Prenatal yoga - in person class q's

I've just been sticking to the class I went to pre-pregnancy (a multi-level vinyasa class), but it is getting more difficult to adjust as I get bigger. It's a big class, and while the teacher watches to make sure I don't hurt myself, I'm on my own to adjust the class to my needs.

There is a prenatal class starting at the end of March. I could probably join and if I can still move to the end, I'd get 6 or 7 of the 10 classes she's offering. It's a great teacher who is properly certified and also a doula - I've met her and like her a lot.

Am I crazy to think I'll be doing anything at 39 or 40 (or 41...) weeks pregnant? Would it be fair to pitch to her that I'll pay for the classes I expect to attend (6) and split the difference on the other 4 (so I'd pay for 8 classes rather than 10, even though realistically 5 or 6 is likely what I can attend)? She's running the 10 classes for $110, so I was thinking I'd see if she'd take me for $88. Or wait list me, and if the class isn't full take me then.

  • It really just depends.  I am a yoga teacher and have had students continue their practice up until the day they give birth.  Others stop much sooner than that.
