Is there anything I can give my 18 month old for her cough?

DD has a pretty nasty cold, her 18 month check-up is this afternoon so I will talk to her doctor as well but I'm wondering if there is such a thing as baby cough medicine or any sort of natural cough medicine out there.

We got next to no sleep last night and my poor monkey is having a rough nap through her coughing fits. We have a humidifier running in her room but it's not doing much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Warm water or caffeine free tea with honey was what my pedi said. Also a cool air humidifier works wonders if she starts to get congested.

DD hasn't had honey yet (we just don't eat it) but that seems like an easy fix. I think I'll talk to her doc and probably get some cough syrup as well for night time if she ok's it. Thanks for the advice.

We do the Little Cold or Noses or whatever Honey Elixir and love it. It's just honey and water, but I am not about to work with honey in the middle of the night.

My pedi recommended Delsym (grape flavored). It seemed to help a bit over the summer when he had a cough.
