Stroller when LO outgrows infant seat?

I think my little guy is going to outgrow his infant car seat pretty quickly in terms of length - the car seat max. length is 30 inches & he's already 25 inches at just 4 weeks!  The infant seat snaps right into our stroller - so when he does outgrows the infant seat should he be able to just go directly into the stroller?  When do you start putting a baby just directly in a stroller - or are there other options?

  • I think they can sit in a stroller when they can control their head.

  • I just think there's going to be an in-between period where he's outgrown the infant seat & he still can't hold his head up - so what to use then?  our stroller doesn't fully recline so I'm hesitant to put him in it until he can really sit up..

  • It is not recommended to put a infant in a stroller unless it fully reclines until 6 months of age.

  • You can buy stroller inserts to help prop him up until he can sit on his own or use rolled up towels. As long as he has good head control and you keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't slide or slump over too much I think that he would be okay in the stroller.

  • I have a stroller/carseat combo. The carseat had a head support in it when I bought it but I bought a nicer one cause she was so tiny. However the one that came with the carseat also fit right to the stroller & the stroller has the harness type belt in it. Maybe you could try that. Or you could probably put a store bought head support in the stroller. Mine doesn't recline flat. But it only has a little bit of an incline. I would probably feel comfortable putting her in that.
