How in the world do you keep him/ her from falling out? Or, at the very least, how do you not worry that he/ she's going to fall out?!
DS is sick and I brought him into bed with me last night. He slept soooo much better. He started out on my chest until his breathing/ congestion improved, then he squirmed to lay down. . . which was fine, except I couldn't rest for fear that he'd roll off the bed!
I put a pillow between him and the edge of the bed but, really - is that going to stop him? He's such an active sleeper. (I'd already run DH off to the couch with my own cough, so it was just me and little man.) I'd love to let him sleep with me again tonight so he can rest better, but I can't do another night of not sleeping myself.
Re: If you ever bring LO into bed with you. . .
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
ginny and I actually sleep in a twin bed. shocking, I know!
I found a mesh side rail (20 years old from my nephews) that has "arms" that slide under the mattress. with my body on one side and the rail on the other ginny really can't fall out. I've seen new and improved versions but they are kind of pricey.

"our IF story"
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

This is how we do it too.
We have this because we bedshare so it was worth the investment...plus whe she moves to her own bed we can use there too!
How is the little guy feeling today?
Thanks for asking, and for responding to my post last night
I keep going back and reading all the responses and they really help me feel more calm and in control!
Last night was really, really rough. I was convinced we were headed to the dr. first thing this morning. But, after finally getting some rest in bed with me, he woke up with a smile - it was the strangest thing! We watched him for maybe 2 hours, thought things were good, got him ready for daycare. . . and he started sliding downhill again, coughing, wheezing, sneezing/runny (projectile!) nose, etc. We have a pedi appt scheduled for Friday anyway (to follow up re the alleged asthma) - now just trying to decide if we should try to move it up.
She sleeps between us. If she's on her side facing me (like she's been nursing/wants to nurse) my hand is usually on her. Although she does like to kick, I keep telling her I need more than a quarter of the bed because I've noticed myself on my side almost falling off before. Otherwise she sleeps on her back. My arm is often around her or tucked above her head under my pillow then.
If one of us gets up, we put pillows on our side of the bed.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
This.
I sleep with my arm around him. Then my left bicep aches for days!
he cannot sleep between us, he is all over the place and he seems to melt into me, yet he kicks the bejebbus out of my husband!
