XP: Blood in Breastmilk?

(XP from Breastfeeding board) Just wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with blood appearing in their BM. It's totally painless and only on one side. I've pulled a few articles from Dr. Google but I'd like to hear from you ladies in terms of how long it lasted and what was your root cause. Many thanks :-)

  • Do you have a cracked nipple?  I know that when I have a crack and then pump, my milk is bright red.  Lanisnoh will help the crack clear up.

Actually the nips are perfectly fine! No cracks, soreness or dryness at all. Nurse came back and said it could have been a broken capillary but nothing to get overly concerned about since I wasn't in any pain, and there was only a few drops of blood. I pumped again shortly after and everything was fine.

    Thanks for the input ladies!
