Quantity for frozen BM?

For those of you working on a freezer supply, in what quantities are you storing your frozen bm?  I started doing 2 oz, now I've been doing 4 oz.  Have those of you with experience found an ideal quantity?  I don't want it wasted, but at the same time, it seems like a baby would probably be drinking more than 2 oz in a feeding.

  • I've been doing 5 ounces and will start doing 6ounces.  The first time around I ended up throwing away probably a good 200 ounces because we just didn't use it.  I'm just freezing it for emergencies....I really didn't use much of the frozen to tell you the truth.  When I went back to work I was able to pump more than she ate so I rarely touched what was frozen.

  • I fill the bags to the recommended max fill line.

  • Whatever I pump, anywhere from 2-5 oz. I figure I can mix bags to make a bottle if I need to.

  • I have been filling my Lansinoh bags to 8 oz.  which should be enough for two feedings.  DD has been eating 3-4 oz at a time. I am going back to work next week.

  • I am just freezing what I pump, usually between 4-5oz at a time. I think as DS gets older I will start storing more in one bag.

  • I freeze what I pump, usually around 4 oz. Then, if I happen to make more, I create "snack" bags that have 1-2.5 oz in case LO is particularly hungry.
  • I freeze mostly in 6 oz increments, a few in 3 oz.  By the time we need to use the frozen milk, LO will be eating at least 6 oz.

  • I am doing it in 4oz bags but now I am feeling like an idiot wasting bags when i should have been filling them all the way b/c once I take a bag out it's good for the day.
  • My bag holds up to six ounces.  I fill each bag with six ounces of bm.  DD eats around 2.5-3 ounces for each feeding.  I just put the remaining bm in the fridge for the next feeding.

  • I put what ever I pump into one bag, usually 6-8 oz.  When I go back to work LO will be eating around this.  I do have a few 4 oz bags frozen.
