High-Risk Pregnancy

Annoyed

Ok, so on Friday I had a doctor's appointment and my doctor tells me since I had a LEEP procedure done, I have a very high change for preterm labor and she'd like me to come back in ASAP to have another vaginal ultrasound done to double check the length of my cervix. Well, I take the ultrasound order out to the the desk to find that everyone in the entire office was gone for the day. So the receptionist told me to call in Monday morning around 8 AM. So being as freaked out as I am, I called at 8 AM this morning and told the receptionist I had an ultrasound order from my doctor that was an ASAP order. So what does she do... She puts me in the nurses VOICE MAIL!!!!!!!!! I was like... "You've got to be kidding me, right?" This is my first child and I've been told I have a very high chance for preterm labor and you put me in someone's voice mail. I'm sitting here at work, watching my phone like a hawk. I need a call back to ease my mind. I need to schedule this appointment. This is torture.

Sorry, had to vent! Thanks for listening ladies.

Re: Annoyed

  • I don't even know why you need to talk to the nurse.  First you need to figure out 2 things, Are your ultrasounds done at a medical imaging facility? (if so call them yourself!) or, are they done in house at your dr's office.

Either way I would be calling back & saying, no i don't need nurses voicemail.  Tell them you are a high risk patient & you had an order for ultrasound ASAP & if they can't help you they needed to transfer you directly to someone who can.

  • I hope you've since had a call-back & scheduled an appt.  That being said, I wish your doctor hadn't scared you and left you hanging like that.  I also had a LEEP and cone, but my cervix is a-okay, so hopefully you will be in the everything is okay category!  The waiting to find out is torture though!!  HUGS to you (and the above post is good advice about the office/nurse voicemail situation).
