Ok I know this isn't terribly related to this board but I am hoping there are some Chicago Bumpies who can help me. I am trying to find a new OB practice to start going to that has Nurse Midwives in their group in Chicago. I live on the North side of Chicago and ideally am looking for a group that has privilages either at Northwestern or Swedish Covenant. I am posting this on the Chicago board as well but thought I would check with one of the groups I spend a lot of time with. Thanks!
Re: NBR: Need Midwife Recs for Chicago
Hi, not sure if you're willing to go more west than north but Oak Park has a midwife practice.

Maybe they can help you and refer you to a practice closer to you.
I don't have any personal experience but my "crunchy" friend that lives in the city delivered in Oak Park, I'm guessing the practice/birthing center referenced by the prior poster.
Also, I never used them for OB, but I think that Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation's department of obstetrics and gynecology has midwives on staff (I saw one once when I went for a routine gyn exam WAY before I was interested in anything prenatal).
Are you looking to go med-free?
If your aim is med-free, ditto PP re: West Suburban or Oak Park midwifery groups that deliver at the West Sub Alternative Birth Center.
If you're looking for a MW to deliver you at Northshore/Evanston, I'd suggest Kathy Puls https://www.kathypuls.com/practice.php.
I recently had a terrible experience w/ North Shore Associates' OB/Gyn/MW practice and won't be going back-- I'll be more than happy to elaborate if you want.
Thanks ladies! And Blonde if you get that name let me know.
