Team Pink - changing diaper/cleaning

When you change your DD's diaper do you clean all up in her vajayjay?  If I see poop in there I try to gently clean the area but I'm leary about going all in to clean.  I hope I'm doing this right!  Thoughts/advice?

Re: Team Pink - changing diaper/cleaning

  • With sDD we made sure to clean it no matter what so she wouldn't get a yeast infection, UTI, or any other type of infection. Obviously if there is poop in her vagina you want to get it all out but even when there wasn't we just wiped everything down to make sure there was no urine sitting around to irritate her.

I pretty much just made sure she was clean the way that I would want to be clean.

  • I clean it no matter what as well. If she poos, I always use two wipes, one for her bottom, and one for her vagina. If she is just wet, Ill use one wipe, and wipe her front to back.
  • Ya know this post got me thinking. I feel like I keep DD very clean, I do get up in there best I can, but I wasn't really thinking abt the front to back thing during quick like middle of the night changes!! Jesus I've been doing it for 29 years - I finally get a daughter and I forget the front to back rule!

  • The nurse just told us that if she pees that we don;t need to wipe there, but if she poops to check the cracks to make sure there is nothing inside that might cause an infection. I wipe her down no matter what. I mean I wipe the pee of of me so why wouldn't I do it for her.

  • I do wipe it a bit but the dr told me not to try to get all the discharge that is in there from my hormones out. It'll go away on it's own but probably not till after I stop nursing cause she is still getting my hormones through the breast milk. So, I say still wipe it but don't go all in to clean unless the discharge is already gone then go all in to prevent a yeast infection. After all, we know how uncomfortable those are for us none of us wants our DD to have to suffer with one of those.
