what are some of your 7-9 year olds favorite toys to play with besides video games?

    Those lego kits are a big hit for boys that age.

    My DS is 6 1/2, but FWIW he's into:  legos, pokemon action figures/stuffed animals, star wars action figures, nerf guns, remote control cars, science experiment kits, any toy having to do with outer space/astronauts/airplanes.

     

    High School English teacher and mom of 2 kids:

    DD, born 9/06/00 -- 12th grade
    DS, born 8/25/04 -- 7th grade

    Another "classic" toy is the kind that you put together using little tools and it's real metal pieces. They are called Erector sets.

    Horses!  Anything from the Barbie horses, to little plastic horses and the GREAT BIG horse named Butterscotch!

    Oy, how could I forget Beyblades!  Those too.
