DH has a snow day today and I told him he should work on our taxes. I'm really wondering what we are going to get back this year.
I just like to mentally cross them off of my to do list. Or his to do list, whatever.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too!
It's FREE and EASY!
I was wondering if the States had some kind of different deadline then us. We are still waiting for all the paperwork we need! Here businesses don't have to have T4's and such out until the end of February, so most people can't even file until at the earliest middle of march.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
Well at least I am not the only one! I have to pay quarterly taxes and never get money back so I have no motivation to do them. And dhviel, the deadline is usually April 15.
Because the sooner we do them, the sooner we get our return.
And both DH and I hate having them hanging over our heads. We're still waiting on one form for some freelance work I did last year, and it's irritating to have to wait on that one thing.
Plus, in years past at least, it seems like the earlier you file, the quicker yours gets processed b/c you're not part of the last-minute rush where everybody is filing at once and things slow way down.
We haven't sent ours to our accountant yet. We usually owe, so we don't exactly get excited about tax time.
I thought I read somewhere that the federal gov't wasn't sending out refunds anytime soon, regardless of when you send your stuff in. I could be mistaken though...
We always do our early. This year is mainly because my car is getting ready to die so I need a new one. So we are using some of that money to go towards me a new car.
Because DH is obsessed lol. He starts playing around on H&R Block - the online tool - with estimates the day we get our last 2010 paystub. The day we get our W4s is the day we file. It's insane really.
We file as soon as we get all our paper work, if not I will lose something. BTW whoever said refunds are taking a long time to be sent, ours was was deposited in our accound in 2 weeks.
We haven't filed ours yet. We'll owe a couple hundred dollars. We never get a big refund. I think the most we ever got back was $200 and usually we owe a little bit. But we prefer it that way.
We get pretty big return, but this year we have just been sooo busy and trying to find a date that we can both be free is almost impossible. We will be getting them done the 2nd week of March. We have to travel to see our CPA (3 hour drive), but we visit with family and friends while we are there.
Re: Why are you all so on the ball with your taxes?
b/c i am awesome.

Exactly!!
That and we're going for pre-approval soon (house buying) - they want current tax info and the extra $$ in savings won't hurt.
Because the sooner we do them, the sooner we get our return.
