Do you use generic kids stuff?

Diapers

Wipes

Food & Snacks

Clothes (ie Target brand)

Me...I'm all about generics :)   Up&Up diapers, Costco wipes, Up&Up puffs & dried fruits, most of the food I buy is generic, and we sport Target clothes all the time...and gasp! even Walmart on occasion!

Re: Do you use generic kids stuff?

  • Yes, all the time!  I only buy name brand when it is on sale and I have a coupon!  I was so sad the other day they had sleepers at Walmart for $1.50 but they didn't have Keira's size.  :(

  • I buy generic clothes all the time, I guess!  I will try the generic wipes/diapers.  I didn't like the ones of I've used in the past, so I'm back to Pampers.  I don't usually buy generic food because it's not that much less for babies.

  • I prefer the wal-mart garanimals (sp?) to the Target brand stuff.  I think its softer and holds up better after lots of crawling and washing.

I try to coupon so it usually works out just a little cheaper to get the name brand food when its on sale and I have coupons.  I just try to stay stocked up.

  • Absolutely!

Target up&up products are my friends lol.

It depends on foods.. sometimes for snacks ill buy the up&up when i have coupons off specifically for any up&up brand items

  • I love the BRU brand wipes.  They are the only ones we have found that don't dry out and don't rip coming out of the wipe warmer.  We also have tons of Target and Kohl's brand clothes.

  • Diapers is only Pampers

Wipes is only Kirkland (from Costco)

    Food is whatever we're eating

Clothes is whatever's on sale, very rarely paying full price so yes some come from Target, Walmart, etc.

  • The only generic I buy is Up and Up (Target) brand tearless shampoo and it's no different then the johnson and johnson.  I can't even bring myself to try generic diapers or wipes- I just imagine that they would fall apart (even though I know they are probably no different) As for clothes, I won't buy generic for myself so why would I buy them for DD?

  • Yes. I buy all of DDs diapers, wipes and most of her snacks, and milk from Kroger and they are all Kroger brand. The only "name brand" clothes I buy DD are Old Navy but that is when they are having a major sale other than that it is mainly Target, Wal-Mart, and Kohls (In that order too)

  • I use Huggies diapers and wipes because I'm picky. I buy some generic foods as long as I know they taste as good as the brand name that I like. I definitely buy generic clothes. I don't like WalMart because I think they are poorly made but target is great and their clothes are adorable.

  • We use generic foods and snacks, wipes, medicines, and clothes.  I love the Up&Up Target brand!  They are all great from what I've tried.  The only thing we don't use is the Target diapers (never tired them though), when DS was little he always broke out in any generic diapers...so we stick with Huggies.

  • I haven't found a genaric wipe I'm a fan of, and thanks to amazon we haven't had the need for store brand diapers. Food and whatnot I just go by whatever I can get cheapest at the time. The kids do have a ton of name brand clothes (but it's not a requirement) I like to hit the outlet end of season clearance and stock up. Last summer I hit the Childrens Place outlet and get over $300 (pretax) worth of clothes for $54, they're just about set for this summer already!

  • I have used generic and still do on somethings. Most diapers I won't do as generics ever again. Had too many blow outs. Most wipes I love. My favorite is Mom to mom and Costco brand.

  • Diapers- YES! We love the Up&Up Diapers from Target. We used Pampers before they added DryMax.

Wipes- We do not like Up&Up. They are too thin. I usually buy Huggies but we just got a box at Costco and I cant wait to try them.

Food & Snacks- Never really for DD since I buy her a lot of Organic food and snacks. Occasionally, I will get a store brand generic food item but its not often.

Clothes- Not really. She has a couple of things from Target. 98% or so of her clothes are from Carters, Baby Gap, or the Childrens Place.

I do buy Up&Up Glass Cleaner, other cleaning supplies (Like sponges), medicines, etc. since they are the same exact thing.

  • Diapers- we use Parent's Choice.  Cheap and free delivery to our home!

    Wipes- Same as the diapers

Food and Snacks-  Sometimes but mostly name brand

Clothes- We mostly have Carters and Old Navy but there is some Walmart and Target brand stuff in there.

As for other things I do buy generic as long as it is comparable to the name brand.

  • Wipes - Costco

Dipes - Pampers & Huggies (cruisers & overnights)

Food - we buy mostly fresh ingredients, but for things like milk, eggs, bread, pasta, beans, canned goods, we get the store brand.  I do buy the Earth's Best cheddar crackers for Bean, because they're lower in sodium than normal cheddar crackers.

Clothes - it varies.  Bean wears Janie & Jack and he wears Walmart & stuff I get from Sal Army.
