Good carries for preemies?

Any one have suggestions for babywearing my LO? He's back up to his birth weight of 5lbs 7oz, but I am afraid that he's going to be swallowed up in either my sling or my wrap (I have an Ellaroo, and a Maya sling). Anyone have suggestions or videos they can point me to, or should I just wait until he is a little bigger? I want to keep him next to me a little more than I am now- poor guy isn't supposed to be in the outside world yet. We also can't breastfeed due to latch issues, so I am missing that bonding/closeness right now too.

I recommend any tummy to tummy hold (like a fwcc, ncbelle has a great video for one). I would avoid the cradle carry because it would be difficult to do correctly, especially with such a small babe.

We used the moby and did the newborn hug hold from the time DD came home at 4.3 lbs until about 7 lbs then did the regular hug hold. And for breastfeeding have you tried a nipple shield? DD started BFing at 33 weeks but didnt have the muscles to latch so we used the shield so we could BF. The only pain is ditching the shield but she did it when she was ready!

Excellent, thank you all!

As far as the nipple shield, I'm afraid the issues are more than that will fix- we are waiting to get in to see the ENT about his frenulum.
