2nd Trimester

s/o "illegitimate children"

I have an opinion on this matter. (Surprise! Lol) I was born to a married couple. Perfection, right? No. My father is a piss-poor excuse for a dad, and I truly believe I would be a lot better off (emotionally, at least) if I had never even met the man.  So, I do not think that being married is always the way to have a "perfect" upbringing.

  • I'm in the same boat and I agree wholeheartedly.
  • Of course it's not perfect. It involves human beings.
  • I agree.  My parents were married when I was born.  They are now divorced and happier that way.

I unfortunately have been told that my daughter is illegitimate.  I have heard other, hurtful things because her dad is black and I am white.  I think it's very unfortunate that my daughter will encounter these people and their ignorance.

  • Same here with the dad situation and I agree whole heartedly me and DF arent even married yet and everyone in his family is pressuring to do it ahead of when we planned originally and it hacks me off because its our decision on the rest of our lives and OUR day and we will get married when we originally wanted. Finding out we were pregnant has no effect on us or our relationship we still want to get married just when we already have it planned for... I mean seriously whats the rush?!?!? It just hacks me off so bad when people get involved in business that isn't theirs.

In todays society I cannot believe "legitamacy" let alone racial background is still an issue... makes me so sad.  Don't worry, your daughter will grow up strong and w/o predjudice and ignorance thanks to her awesome mama!!!! :)
