Re: Bed-Rest Mamas Daily Check-In ~ TUESDAY ~
Ha ha!
I'm a Helicopter Mom. No surprise there!
Updates?
Nothing's changed much. My increase in contractions is still the same, so I'll address this with my peri on Thursday. Perhaps she'll suggest reduce the time between my prog. shots. I'm figuring because of this irritability that my cervix MAY have shortened some but we'll see. Hoping to get to Monday for the 28-week milestone in good standing.
How are the rest of you doing?
QOTD: That was fun! I am a combo of the Fun Seeker Mom and Free Range Mom, so parts of both really fit well. My husband is the "Helicopter Mom" haha.
UPDATES: Went in for my appointment at 1, came home at 6 from L&D ugh. DS's growth is great and as of now is in the 47th percentile, my fluid looks good, and I am actually 1cm dilated, but my bp is getting high and wouldn't come down. DR would've sent me home and had me come back in two days for a recheck, but I have been feeling miserable the past few days, including a loss of my appetite and she didn't like that. So we went to L&D for monitoring and labs. Of course as soon as I get comfy in the bed, my bp drops, and my labs came back perfect BUT they told me my "blood was black" and I was dehydrated. It took two bags of fluids before I started to feel better. How ANYONE can drink 128 ounces of water the day before and STILL be dehydrated is beyond me, but I felt so much better after I left. And then when I got a Butterfinger from the vending machine as I left, it gave me two! It was like winning the lottery.
QOTD: I'm Alpha Mom! Watch out, kids, because here comes the Alpha Mom! She is plugged in and all business, even when it comes to solving personal issues?her kids are always on time and have the cleanest clothes on the block. She uses her vast contacts and tech knowledge to simplify the complex in her life. Alpha Mom is armed with a BlackBerry, and she is going to make it happen. Whatever "it" is?a school fundraiser, a playdate, a corporate merger. Alpha Mom is always on top of it.
Update: I started a new blog feel free to check it out https://chroniclesofmom.blogspot.com/
I think I mentioned this Friday but just in case I didn't, I was put on indefinite modified bed rest until about 35 weeks. I doubt if I go back to the office by that time since I'll be so close to my due date. Plus at this point the only thing stopping my cervix from funneling/shortening is the cerclage and once that's removed I'm pretty sure I'll go into labor. So until then I'm waiting to see if I can continue to work from home (although I really don't want to). I know that if I can't that will put DH and I in a financial bind.
I'm going to be a helicopter mom, lol.
Updates: not much has changed, at least as far as I know. We go for our next appt. Monday, but on a better note, Wednesday makes 27 weeks, so we are nearly at our first goal (Just a little over a week)! Hang in there baby girl!
QOTD: Funseeker mom
Update: I have my fingers and toes crossed. If my ultrasound comes back good, I may be able to go home TODAY! ! !
Edit: My cervical length went from 2.0 to 1.4 today. I am not going home. They will recheck on Friday. :-(
I'm a Free-Range Mama.... Why do I feel like I shouldn't shave my legs or armpits thanks to that label? LOL
Ummmm, I thought that was called pregnancy? Hahaha. I apologized to my OB yesterday and told her I gave up on shaving. She just laughed and said "Heather, I could care less what your legs look like."
Lol.... I think this will probably be the last week I'll try shaving my legs. One leg always comes out awesome and the other looks like I shaved with my eyes shut! I won't even mention the OTHER area.... LOL.... I gave up a long time ago on that one!
Preemie ID DDs; then DS; then natural M/C; now due 10/17
High risk for pre-term: weekly Makena injections
Name: Kara (kcc1208)
Due: April 15, 2011
Began bed-rest: 30 weeks, 2/9/11
Type: PTL & GD
Looks like I will be:
The Funseeker Mom:
Funseeker Mom is always ready for action with a cooler full of snacks, ice-cold juice boxes and a go-to attitude. She makes the best of any situation, whether it's a long carpool line or bad year in algebra. And, she never lets the fear of no available parking stop her from heading to the beach or the park with a carful of kids. She's glass-half-full all the time.

Kinda sounds like me, but kinda not. I'm really more type-A and love to be in control!
Nothing new here. Except, lost more mucous plug. How much of that dang stuff is in there? LOL!
