High-Risk Pregnancy

**update x2** Hanging out in L&D for atleast 24hrs..

I had my OB appt this morning, which went well.  He talked to me about his induction process plan (which I was going to bring up, but he did) & also about getting my tubes tied which he recommended at 6 weeeks PP unless I have a C-Section for some reason.  Just because of all of the other issues I have going on.

He said I was 1cm & had cervical change so he didn't see the need to use anything but pitocin (I didn't really want the cervadil/cytotec, so I was pretty happy about this).

I have bronchitis, ear infections & a sinus infection though & he was concerned that I've had a fever and wanted to see me back on Thur (induction is scheduled for next Wed at 5am).

Then, I go to peri & my fluid is 5.8 It's been around 8-9..was 7.5 last Tue, so closer to the too low category, and my contractions were so regular they were convinced I must be in labor.

They called the Dr. to let him know and sent me over to L&D (glad I packed my laptop & phone charger =D!! )

Either way, mostly the contractions have stopped but I still have to get another ultrasound in the morning to check my fluid.  Realistically, I don't really know what they are going to do at this point.  I don't think hospital policy will let them induce me.. however I hope they do a full growth scan in the morning to check on her IUGR as well.

So, i'm here until atleast tomorrow around 2ish.  They didn't give me the bed with the foam mat either =(

  • I hope everything goes well for you.  The last time I was in L&D, I knew I was going to be there a while and I ask to get me a regular hospital bed.

  • Sooo she's had a couple of d-cells which they said is normal with fluid this low, she probably rolled on her cord or something.  The machine scared the heck out of me when it went off.

But, the dr just came in & said that if my fluid isn't up tomorrow (I don't know how much up is allowed..) then they are going to induce tomorrow morning!

ZOMG!!  I don't even feel panicky, well maybe a little, but how do I prepare for "MAYBE" being induced tomorrow.

I don't want to be all ready for it & then get sent home bc it went up a cm.  I also don't want to be back here on Thursday because the same thing happens again at peri, or Monday.  I would kind of like to just get it over with but I don't want her to have to stay in the hospital bc of it.  Realistically though, if she isn't growing well, whether it's tomorrow or 8 days from tomorrow probably won't make too much of a difference.

I'm kind of just trying to stay calm right now, dh is even going to go to work!  lol and if they say it's low then i'm going to call him & he will be about 2 hours away from the hospital =(

At this point it's safer for her outside, than inside.  With low fluid and IUGR being inside is worse than the NICU.

  • Soooo my fluid was up to 6.9 and I was unsure of what they were going to do..my OB just came in and asked what they said & I said only the tech has been here at it was 6.9 so he said well that's good but you are having a lot of contractions (YES!)

So he checked me & I've progressed overnight and am actually in labor on my own.

He went to talk to peri and both agreed the baby wanted out..sooo we're having a baby today.  Dh is at work, my BFF is at work i'm on the verge of crying lol

I'm so excited this is all going to be over with but it's kind of bittersweet.

Plus, I heard a lady screaming in pain last night & I remembered how bad it hurts!
