for a boy?
I am trying to think of names that have meaning to me, based on family members of me and dh. my grandmother's maiden name was Blais and I stumbled upon the boy name Blaze and thought it would alleviate the issue we have with most familial boy names sounding too old fashioned.
All of the other names on our list honor one or more family members or have significant meaning to us.
For girls names we have: Nora Katherine, Brielle Elizabeth, Amerada Pearl
For other boy names we have: Samuel Arthur, Daniel Michael, Richard Donald, Joseph Daniel...
See what I mean about old fashioned names.
WDYT of Blaze Edward or Blaze Joseph? do you think they would pair better with our girl's names than some of the other choices?
Any other feedback on any of the other names would be appreciated as well.
Re: wdyt of Blaze?
Blaze is really horrible.
I absolutely LOVE Nora Katherine. The other two are not my style. Your boy names are all great.

NMS at all. I hope your child is famous or a sports player, cause I dont think just anyone can pull it off. IMO
For girls names we have: Nora Katherine
, Brielle Elizabeth ok, Amerada Pearl
For other boy names we have: Samuel Arthur
, Daniel Michael
, Richard Donald OK, Joseph Daniel OK...

While its not my style, I kind of like it. It sounds kind of kick azz, rocker-ish to me. I think if you want something non-traditional it works. I would try to find a better fitting MN though. Joseph and Edward dont fit with Blaze IMO.
Edit to add: I really like all of your girl names, and all of your boy names with the exception of Richard.
This! Blaze was the name of the girl in the Movie The Last Song. Weird, just weird.
I love Nora but not Nora Katherine.. Just doesn't flow.
I love the name Pearl (although it is the name the of my recently deceased great-great-great-great Aunt Pearl who was a amazing woman!
This name is NMS, but I much prefer Blaise. Blaze just seems like a horse name to me, but Blaise is legit.

Richard is my DH, his dad was also a Richard, so its on our list, but NMS at all!
Like I said, all the names have some significance. Pretty set on Nora Katherine as our first girl name, but boy names are up in the air.... I do like the spelling of Blaise too... will have to run that by DH and see what he thinks.
thanks so much for your feedback
I knew a Blaze and he was a nice guy but i hate the name. I can't help but sing some Bon Jovi (Blaze of Glory) when I hear it.
If you want to use it, I'd go with the Blaise spelling, but don't forget that "i" or Word will forever be autocorrecting your child's name to blase` (Blah -zay)'. True story. It happens to a student I know, and every time I type his name it autocorrects.
I like the name Blaze but I don't think that it's very "professional" or that it would age well. I do not like the spelling of Blaise. It looks feminine.
The middle names you've chosen are just ok. They don't really flow; styles are kinda mismatched.
i think we need to put blaze out with a hose.
Love any of your other choices!
Honestly, I like your other boy names much better. Samuel Arthur is an awesome name!
For your girl picks, I think Nora Katherine is very lovely. I really don't care for Brielle--I've seen it pop on this board a bit recently, and I don't really get the appeal. Amanda is a nice name.
Blaze just has too much of an image too it, that it would be rather difficult for a normal person to carry off. Like someone said, it sounds like a gladiator name, or something off of Mortal Kombat, or a Pokemon gym leader, or a rapper, or a nightclub. It doesn't sound like a name for a gentleman.
Now Blaise might be more doable. Almost identical phonetically, but with a much softer, more professional feel to it. Blaise Pascal, for instance, was a very important mathemetician, and nothing seems out of place with his name. The spelling makes a huge difference.
Blaze is ridiculously bad.
Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
Blaze = An American Gladiator.
Blais is 1,000x better although I don't love it. I like Daniel best for boys and Brielle best for girls.
It's actually his last name. His full name is Richard Blaise, and they just use his last name.
I would never use the name, but I don't mind the name spelled Blaise. But I'm a huge math nerd and think of Blaise Pascal. As PP have said, Blaze makes me think American Gladiators.
This!
"Blaze" automatically made me picture you and your DH sitting on a futon in front of your psychedelic Grateful Dead posters, passing a giant doobie back and forth.
I like Blaise 1,000 times better.
