to preschool.
The cost to send her 5 days vs 3 is minimal, and it's a 3 hour program. Part of me says she'll be in school 5 days a week for the rest of her life, but the other part of me thinks that maybe it will be a good prep for her to transition to full day K in the fall of next year.
She just turned 4.
WWYD?
Re: I'm still struggling with how many days to send DD
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
DS#2 - Allergic to Cashew, Pistachio, Kiwi
DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
I don't really have advice for you but our plan for DS until he goes to kinde is
2 days/week at 3 yrs
3 days/week at 4 yrs
5 days/week at 5 years
Kinde the following year. He has an October bday.

I would do 3 days a week - just so you have less days to drive to school, etc - and its easier for you to plan other things you want to do -before he HAS to be in school.
Griffin goes 3 days a week and sometimes i wish it was 4 for him - I'm also really glad i have him home with me those 2 days all day.... he's got the rest of his life to be in school all day.
kids don't really need to be prepped for full day K or 1st - they manage just fine - i used to teach K and the SAH kids did just fine after a couple weeks.
This.
As a Mom of a 16 yr old I can assure you that they DO have the rest of their lives to have the full time job of school.
I totally see the value of a structured pre-school but I also think that at this age there's so much learning that comes just from being out and about living life with you.
We did only 2 days a week for only 1 year and he starts 5 half days a week kinder next fall. I believe he'll do just fine as he's learning all about the structure of school with just those 2 days a week.
My vote is 3 days.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Our DD goes 3 days a week. But she'll go for a full day Monday&Friday and only for a few hours on Wednesday.. She loves it and I do too.. I think it's perfect break from eachother, I get all my stuff done and she gets to play with all her friends.. Next year I want to get her in to 5 days a week but she'd only be going for half a day.
I really think it's up to you, how long you want your dd to go. I think 3 is good to start at and see how she does and push up to 5 later on..
