MIL was watching Claire today. She calls DH because Claire spikes a 101 fever. DH told her to give Claire .5 mL of tylenol (which he specified was the red medicine). We later found out that she gave Claire .5 mL of benadryl because it had red writing on it. Nevermind the words on the label. We're going with the color-coded school of pharmacology now. Holy shiit, I am so angry at her.
Eta: she gave her 5 mL. I was flustered and typed the wrong amount.
Re: Oh, the anger. It burns.
I'd definitely be pissed too!
And rightfully so. You trust her with your child, she needs to be more careful than that. Period.
I too would be extremely upset if that happened, and it would be a while before I'd feel safe leaving LO with my MIL again.
So sorry, mama, but glad she is ok!
Agreed. It scares me so much to think of what could have happened had it been a different bottle, the wrong dose, etc.
ummmmm.....kaayyy, MIL.
So sorry.
