Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Shhhhhh, DH, FFS!

Is your DH ridiculously loud when LO is sleeping? I swear the man is clueless! He yells upstairs for me, plays the radio or TV at full volume, opens & closes every door in the house and, I swear, waits to drop things until DS is juuuust falling asleep. Grrr.

  • Sometimes yes! It can be very annoying!

  • Nope, because he knows I would make HIM put her back to sleep if he woke her up.

  • It's not at night that it's a problem, it's in the morning. He slams kitchen drawers, I swear he throws plates onto our granite counter tops, and when spoons hit the sink I cringe. I know he's getting ready for work and he doesn't do it on purpose but ughhh I lay there and pray that DD doesn't wake up! I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that he's a big guy and he's just loud while he's doing pretty much anything.
  • I'd kick him in the baby maker

  • We aren't any more quiet when the kids are sleeping than when they're awake. I usually vacuum while DS is napping. They just sleep through the noise LOL!
  • Dh used to be just like that & I would get REALLY pissed. I finally drilled into his head that he was going to get killed if he didn't learn how to be quiet. It did help to give him the baby & let him scream in his face for a while for effect (then I had to take him back to actually get him to go back to sleep). It did seem to help when around 6 months T would go to sleep for Daddy. Once he'd done all the work to get him to sleep he learned how frustrating it is when someone wakes LO by being careless & loud.
  • Thanks, ladies. So glad I'm not alone in this. Ugh.

  • lol, DH is the same way in the morning - every morning at 5:30 I wake up to  a cacophony of dishes, spoons, typing on his keyboard... I even hear when his spoon scrapes the bowl when he eats his cereal.

I mentioned it to him just last week, and he said, "Oh, do you think I'll wake up Liam?"   I said no, Liam could sleep through a marching band practicing in our living room, I'm tired of being woken up lol.

  • I think that we are married to the same man! Luckily, DS sleeps through just about anything, otherwise, I would kill him.

  • He can be.  If he gets too into a game he'll yell.  Or him or my BIL that lives with us will slam the bathroom door which is right next to DD's room.  They just don't think sometimes
