Okay....I know I'm a dork.  But what would you do?  I just made DS's 9 month photo appt for this weekend.  I've been back and forth about what to do for Holiday pictures since I want to get his 12 month pics done only 3 weeks later in January and I don't really want to be there 2 times that close together.  The JCP girl suggested doing them now with his 9 month sitting.  I don't have a holiday outfit for him yet, and I'm not sure I'll have time to find one before the weekend.  I'm not going to be using these for cards or anything.  I just really enjoy now that I'm an adult that my mom made my brothers and I do christmas pictures as kids.  So I'm trying to carry on the tradition.  What do you think?

    I would do the holiday pictures now.  It takes JCP 2 weeks or so to get the pictures back, and you don't want to wait till the middle or end of November to get them done and try to get them back.  I've done this with my sister's and brother's kids -- this time of year is a NIGHTMARE in the photo studios.  If you don't have a holiday outfit, you could just dress him in black or khaki pants with a red or green shirt (turtleneck or sweater).  The background will be holiday-ish and the outfit can be low-key.  And take it from someone who has been looking........it is HARD to find cute Christmas outfits for boys.  I'm having a heck of a time!

     

    But my advice - yes, this weekend!  We are doing ours this weekend too.   :)

    hmmmm....here's what we are doing...we have 9 month pics next Friday in which we are doing a regular outfit for 9 mon pics and we are doing a "fall like" pic with another outfit (I know, seems crazy).....then in december we have an appointment for a holiday family (me, DH, DD) pic and then DD holiday pics too by herself..........yes, and then 2 months later we turn around and do 12 month.  I figure you can never have enough pics...the real challenge is trying not to spend an enormous amount of money each time! :-)  I keep trying to tell myself that!  Could you move his 9 month back maybe a week and then that would give you time to look for a holiday outfit if you get them all dnoe together?

    If you're able to find an outfit in time for this weekend, I'd do them now since sistrkate is right that the studios are going to get crazy soon.  If you don't have time to find an outfit I don't think it would be the end of the world to do them later, though.

    We are combining the 3 month photo with the Christmas photo and will most likely go to JC Penney for them.  I decided to wait until she is sitting to go with a non chain photographer for photos.  I can't imagine what a zoo the chain photography studios will be like after mid November.  I would just do it now if you can.

    It is up to you but I would get holiday pics taken now.  Or you can do his 12 month pics a little early.  Good luck in what you decide.  Also, boy holiday outfits are near impossible to find.  I am doing nice pants, shirt, and a little vest. 
    Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!
