Beco Gemini wearers - Q abt. wide leg opening

I need some help deciding whether I should be using the wide leg opening or the narrow for my 2 month old.  He is a little uncomfortable at this point when I have it snapped open (making the larger seat base) but I don't want to be dangling him with it snapped closed.  It's not NEARLY as narrow as something like a Bjorn, but if I'm supposed to be wearing him in the wide position, I want to be doing it that way, rather than incorrectly.  I realize that the narrow position is more for front carries, but I figured it just made sense to wear him on the narrow position until he was a tad bigger.  What do you do?

    I think the instructions say to go to the wide base when they are 15lbs.

    My DS is big, but doesn't have very long legs and he's been fine in the wide position for a while.

    My LO is 4 months but only 12 lbs and I use the narrow width for her.  The wide width is just to wide for her little legs and she seems really uncomfortable with the wide width.  It works for us!
