Oh, probably bc of the BD comment. oh well. Anyone else think Kathie Lee and Hoda are better when being spoofed on SNL? lol
I'm sure that was it, and no, it wasn't bad. I didn't even touch the "I'm so glad it only took us one month to get pregnant" comment.
And yes, I think they are much better when they are being spoofed. I certainly wouldn't be turning to them for reproduction advice, nor to the NY Post, which was their source. Gah!!
Is it bad that I thought Kathie Lee was dead and I have no idea who Hoda is. Like Yoda?
No, its quite appropriate. The way she drinks she should be dead. I enjoy watching them being torn apart by Joel on The Soup. Sometimes they even get torn apart by their own guests.

If only. Then I might leave on the last hour of the Today show.
I didn't even know what show they were on. All I get of daytime TV is Robin Meade on HLN while I'm shoveling down my oatmeal on the way out the door. Thank goodness I'm not missing anything.
Hrm. I wonder if my comment on the post pissed the OP off?
I said something along the lines of "It took DH and I over 18 months, tons of medication, a doctor, and a syringe full of my husband's sperm to get pregnant. I guess we aren't in that average range, eh?"
I wasn't trying to be bitchy. I was just being honest. *shrugs* Of course, I don't know what else was posted after my post, either. I tried refreshing a few minutes later and it was already gone. AH, well...
Well, I feel there will be another DD before too long. That smoking post is not going the way the OP would like. I think she wants someone to tell her it's okay to keep smoking.
Apparently, my honesty is rude. So, look for that to be deleted.
I went and read it because you posted this. She's looking for validation to keep smoking for sure. And I have it open, just in case

Goodness, if she thinks that is rude, this really is the wrong forum for her. I almost hope she DDs because her justifications are pissing me off!
The poster who said that according to Kathie Lee and Hoda, it takes people 104 times of having sex to get pregnant.
A theory which I could clearly dispute.
104 times... I wonder where they get their facts from.
Dispute seconded! I had my IUD removed the 1st week of October due to copper sensitivity I developed, and we started using over the counter contraception. 1st week of November, we kinda forgot to put anything in (heat of the moment type stuff), and lo and behold, here I am in the August 2011 Moms board with the rest of you lovely ladies. 104 times my a$$. It took us, like, 2.
My mom always said to me when I was a teenager as her way to remind me to use protection: "it only takes once, sweetie;" and my current condition along with he circumstance surrounding how I came to it, proves her right.
Take THAT Hoda and Kathy! (and yes, I much prefer to see them on SNL...lol)

I agree. I was nice, but wth did she expect? It's like if I posted, "I still drink a glass of wine every night because I need it to fall asleep. That's ok, right"? While some research may SAY it's ok, even if I did it (which I don't) I'm not dumb enough to post it on a pregnancy board when 90% of the country thinks we shouldn't drink while pregnnat. Sheesh.

Missing my little one lost at 9 weeks on 2.24.13. brokenhearted but not broken...
d&c 5/21/13... Still Healing, Still Standing...
MMC discovered 10/2/2013, TWINS... d&c 10/7/2013. I still miss you, little ones.
Surgery December 2013 to remove a 10+cm fibroid... Open myomectomy. Benched for 3-9 months... Will TTC summer Summer 2014 we hope!
Dear God, Since I couldn't hold my little one in my lap and tell him about you, could you hold him in your lap and tell him about me?
Yeah, clearly she just wants a pat on the head. I smoked. I quit immediately and felt horribly guilty anyway. Do I still want one every now and then? Of course, but then I'd ruin my streak of smoke free days. In fact, my lack of smoking just paid for a nice brand new kitchen table and chairs.
I can only imagine how difficult it is. It's an addiction! But congrats on the table and chairs That's an impressive amount of money to save from smoking.

Yay for new furniture! That's awesome that you were able to save that much money just from buying cigarettes.
My whole problem with that post was that she's making her DH out to be some responsible individual because he's going to step outside to smoke when the baby is born?!?!?! Really? How about manning up and attempting to quit in support of your wife and unborn child, rather than letting your wife shoulder all of the burden?

Thank you!!! Round of applause!
But you can't tell her that, because then you're "putting her down, blah blah blah". She's being really self centered about it. SO freaking annoying.
I can guarantee she will not quit smoking, and her DH and her will smoke in the house from now on. Stuff like that just p*sses me off to no end. If she wants to quit, then she will. I know it is difficult to quit, but women do it every day when they find out they are pregnant. It is just pure selfishness not to. I posted a response on there that I thought was not too hateful, but I am sure I will offend somebody for my bluntness.

I seconded your statement on the other post about how this board is incredibly tame. i didn't both to weigh in on the smoking post itself because i feel, if you're going to post about something that is a hot topic, you have to be prepared to hear about it. i support women respecting other women, but that said, there has to be some common sense involved. i know a woman who smoked her entire pregnancy and her twins came out with mutilated hands because of it. she might feel bad but she isnt the one who has to live her life permanently disfigured. my respect goes out to the women who make the difficult decision to quit-it sure as hell ain't easy and i've never even been a smoker. but i digress, this isnt about that, anyway. im tired of dirty deleting. i think it is cowardly. and i just wanted/needed to reiterate that this is a totally sweet, easy board; you could never bring that type of thing to another board and hope to survive the day. you'd have to remove your profile and start fresh or something!
Smoking in pregnancy is definitely not the same as smoking around an infant. No, ladies, the latter is actually worse for the baby's health. Shocker, I know.
Pregnancy # 6 4 missed chances 2 loving children 1 on the way

That's cool...explain that to my mom, who has had a lifetime of lung issues, asthma, sarcoid, and was born three months prematurely to a smoking mother.
Just because the latter is worse does NOT make the former any better, nursemom.

LOL Aris...no, no it wasn't.
Now, you know I have a PIP I could use for that, but I won't.
It might get me a 3-day suspension from TB.
Sometimes I feel like it's like watching the same thing.

JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING!!! I wouldn't put the rest of you through that trauma.

OK, so this may be a silly question, but I'm still learning bump-ese...what is DD and BD?
In this case DD means Dirty Delete, in most cases it means Darling Daughter. BD means Baby Dancing, having sex to create a baby.
