I looked at the cupcake post below and my brain hurts.
This is *not* a blow at any of you, trust me. I know I am in the minority around here and in most places, really.
I am planning something small for family for Sarah's birthday. Having to choose between icing on cupcakes would seriously get to me. I think I would be insane by the time her big day arrived. I guess that's why some people get paid to be party planners...
Re: I think I'm missing the party planning genes...
I usually love party planning but I have no motivation to plan their party. I tried to do the guest list and it overwhelmed me to the point that I needed a glass of wine. Thinking about icing on cupcakes would drive me insane...
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
We're doing a party.. but no theme or anything.
He's getting adorable invites and thats it. We're tying it in with memorial day so we'll just do cook out foods ands cupcakes. Nothing fancy!
I'm enjoying making everything from scrap, but I don't sit at home and ponder icing styles all day long. I was doing a trial run, making sure I could make all of and got stuck on which one to do.
Hey, who needs an excuse to have a glass of wine
And I think you have a pass in the motivation dept.!! You've had a lot going on x1,000
Seriously, this was not a jab at you. It was about me and the fact that looking at the two icing styles elicits no preference whatsoever. Having to make decisions like that would drive me insane.
Seriously, the horror!
That adorable face gets me every time! You can't change that siggy for a while!
I didn't take it as a jab. Just wanted to clarify that I didn't think about icing all day. This will probably be the only year where LO doesn't beg for a Dora or Disney Princess cookie cutter party, so I'm just enjoying planning it.
Ok, good. I would be worried about you if you did think about icing all day
I'm with you! I went nuts over the small details of my wedding only to realize they didn't matter. I'm planning a small get together with family and close friends. I don't know if I'll even send out invites!
Well now that I have these cupcakes all over my kitchen, I will be thinking about cupcakes all day. But that's totally different, right?
I'm not 100% sure I'm supposed to be drinking but I figured this was a good enough excuse! Yes! Glad my ordeal is good for something; gets me out of party planning!
Ditto this! I love that adorable little face!
Delphinus, I am in love with your DD too! Those eyes are beautiful!
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
I'm weird on some details and don't give a crap on others.
I designed her invite myself, cause I refuse to spend the money it costs to buy them somewhere like tinyprints.com. I also refuse to spend money on a lackluster cake from a store when I can make cake/cupcakes myself.
And I see absolutely no reason for a theme. The "theme" is Happy Birthday, kiddo.
But, I will buy pretty decorations and get all choked up when we sing Happy Birthday and I will sing to her at 12:11pm, the moment she was born (I woke my 1st kid up on her first birthday at the moment she was born, 6:48am - yawn). And I'll seriously sing to her all day long and be pretty hurt if my dad and stepmom don't come to her birthday party.
