We started out so great, but since she started school just after her birthday (4 months ago!!) it's all fallen apart. I can't even get her to sit on the potty - she screams and straightens her back. I finally broke out the chocolate-chip-bribery.. that gets her to sit on the potty sometimes, but only 1 catch in the last 2 weeks. ![]()
How do I get her back in the routine???
Re: EC: Potty pause turned permanent?
I started EC with my 2 month old son today. I have been doing a lot of reading online and I found this really great website. They have an article on potty pause.

Honestly, with us I've just taken the attitude that with things like that, she makes up her own mind. I can't force her to go, and I think forcing her to sit on the potty does more harm than good for us-- the last thing I want is for her to think of the potty as a bad place.
I try to still ask her a lot if she needs to go, and even if she doesn't want to use the potty I still ask her to "find" the potty; like if we're headed upstairs for a diaper change, I ask her "where's the potty?", we go in, she "finds" it, then I take her diaper off and ask her "would you like to go on the potty or just change your diaper (point towards her room where the changing table is)?" 9 times out of 10 she back-arches off the potty and starts running towards her room, but every few times she'll pick the potty.
She definitely knows when she's going (she's started hiding and then immediately asking for a diaper change), so I'm trying to think of this as just a phase in the process! But it definitely is frustrating-- sorry I don't have any "magic" advice!!
Everything is so exciting when you're one!
