So all the news about abandoning children. The reporters act outraged that this is legal. I don't get it why would you want to leave a child in a home where they are so obviously not wanted?
As long as they are abandoned at a safe place, it's better than the alternatives. Unfortunately, I wish people would take a little responsibility for their actions BEFORE another person is involved. I managed to avoid pregnancy before I was ready. I apparently manage to avoid pregnancy even after I was ready, so maybe I'm not a good example...
Yes the safe haven laws for hospitals, police stations etc.
People are upset esp by a mother who drove 12 hours across state lines to drop off her 12 year old. That seems pretty dramatic. I would think it would be best to take the child out of her care.
True, you would hope people would be responsible first and try other things. I can't imagine who would want to give up their child, I'm sure most of us can't. But more than that I can't imagine hurting your child or anyone who would in some way allow this.
wasn't it Nebraska that just put in place last July the safe haven law, but the wording stated children and people were dumping their teens as well as smaller kids and infants.
I was just reading in the paper about how they are amending that wording to infants 3 days old and under.

Yes, we're the ones who classify "children" as anyone up to 19 years of age.

One of the women in the news was from Michigan. I am not sure how I feel about this really. BUT it's better than these people:
