What Are Your Summer Plans?

DS will be 14-16mo this summer and I will be a temporary SAHM (teacher). What awesome plans do you have for the summer? I'm thinking market, library, museums, concerts in the park, walks, swimming... Any cool ideas I'm missing?What's the consensus on petting zoos?? Disease-o-Rama or fun &educational?

    I cannot wait for the warmer weather!  DS will be 6-9 months old, which I think is perfect for his first summer.  We're going to go to the pool, the childrens' museums, the zoo, the aquarium, etc.  Not to mention lots of walks and trips to the park.  I get giddy just thinking about it!

    THere was a petting zoo at the pumpkin farm we took DS to in Oct. He was 22 mos. at the time and he LOVED it.  Being a cheapskate though I didn't actually pay for him to go in.  He just petted the animals through the bars!

    I'm a teacher too so I'm taking a month and going to visit my family back home. That includes a two-week beach vacation where DS will be able to hang out with his cousins, etc.

    I'm also going to try the local water park.  I've talked to other parents who said it's great even for LOs.

    Mostly we'll do teh beach though.

    My DS was that age last summer and we had sooo much fun. We did petting zoos (and I"m a total germ freak). Any that I went to had the handwashing stations and then I brought hand sanitizer too. I just made sure he wasn't going through a teething episode at the time (he chews his hands). We did the beach, boardwalk rides, parks, outdoor concerts, we have sesame place by me.. but a waterpark would be fun. Check out to see if you have any spraygrounds by you.. it's a playground, but with all these sprinklers set up the kids can run around in! We have a few here in NJ. Have fun... I love that age!

    Just thinking about summer makes me so happy!  I don't even care what we do, I will just be happy to go out without snowsuits, hats and mittens!
