dropping a nap question

so my LO is a terrible napper. It took me so long to put her down for her morning nap then she only slept half an hour. I then held her for her afternoon nap for maybe an hour. I decied that it may be time to drop her to one nap. I am also trying to be able to lay her down instead of holding her for her nap. She is only sleeping about an hour now all day for a nap. I try to get her to sleep longer but she's just awake. It has been ok I guess. She seems grumpy more and by bedtime she is so tired. She has been sleeping better at night. She sleeps almost 12 hours at night (not without waking for nursing back to sleep) but still 12 hours.

I don't know if I am doing the right thing by dropping her nap or not. I don't want her to be grumpy. Just wondering if anyone else has thoughts. TIA

Re: dropping a nap question

  • Our DD is nearly 13 months old and dropped to one nap about a week before her first birthday. She now naps 2 hours in the middle of the day. She was doing two naps, each for just an hour. So her routine looks like:

8-8:30 a.m. Wake for the day

    Breakfast and Playtime

    11:30-12:00 p.m. Nap

    1:30-2 p.m.Wake and Lunch

    5 p.m Dinner

    6 p.m. Bath

    7 p.m. Bed
