We part-time EC; put him on the potty when he wakes up, after naps, at diaper changes, when I'm going, etc.

We had 3 catches yesterday, and one so far today! Yayy!!

It's not silly at all! I felt the same way when J. was 15 weeks. I had read about EC and decided to put him on the toilet just for the heck of it. I didn't expect anything to happen. To my surprise, all 4 times that I put J. on the toilet that day, I caught either poop or pee! I was sold!

We now EC part-time. We put him on the toilet before and after naps and at every diaper change. Lately we have been aiming for more diaper free time to help us read his signals better.

I still get excited about every single catch! (Maybe partly because, as you say, it's one less diaper to wash!)

That's great, I still get so excited about every catch we have. ECing is so cool, I really still can't believe how DS actually "gets" pottying, and we have been catching since he was about 6 months. And of course it's a bonus when you have less diapers to wash!
