Nook Pebble Mattress

Has anyone heard of this mattress? They just came out with a lite (cheaper) version, and I was curious what people thought about this mattress. There are hardly any reviews out there, of course it is really new.

Re: Nook Pebble Mattress

  • I have heard of it and seen it, but am not sure of my thoughts on it yet. I need to do more research first. It does seem interesting.

  • DH and I did some more research over the past couple of days and for us, the Nook is out. It has phthalates (PETE) in it, which have been linked to cancer and hormonal disruptions. Most crib mattresses have that, as well as others. :(

I thought we were going to go with Naturepedic but that has "food grade" polyethelyne. I decided against that as well based on my reading.

I think we are going to go with this organic 252 coil innerspring https://www.daxstores.com/v-snq-crib.html and have the extra side supports added ($20) so it can be used as a toddler bed as well. It costs less than the others too, which is an unexpected but good benefit.

  • Pebble Lite is the newest mattress from Nook Sleep Systems that offers similar benefits to its predecessor, the Pebble Organic mattress, and retails at a more attractive price point.

Both Pebble Lite and Pebble Organic by Nook Sleep Systems create a healthy, breathable and fully non-toxic environment for your child. Each component of Pebble Lite and Pebble Organic has been thoroughly analyzed overall for its contribution to the health and safety of your infant as well as its impact on the environment.

The construction of  Pebble Lite and Pebble Organic does contain PETE, which is made from recycled plastics and is a uniquely sturdy material that promotes healthy and vital airflow by creating open spaces. Thanks to the strength of PETE, these inner airways maintain their integrity even under the weight of the infant or toddler.  This use of ?good? PETE has been accepted for use by leading infant product review companies and it has been approved for decades by the FDA for use in drinking bottles and in dozens of other applications one of the safest component products on the market.

Nook Sleep Systems has received rave reviews such as ?Babble?s Best Crib Mattress,?

Nook Sleep Systems has considered each and every component of the mattress, its impact on the environment and most importantly its safety and non-toxicity across our entire line of products to give your child the finest overall sleeping environment.
  • Goodgalpal, thanks for the info. Where did you read that nook mattresses have PETE in them? Their pure mattress is supposed to be all organic.
