I would wait until tomorrow. Maggie gets like that if her nose is stuffy. Unless it's really bothering him I wouldn't think it warranted a trip to urgent care.
I'd wait a day and see how it is tomorrow. Typically if it's not pinkeye, the goopiness can mean an ear infection or possible sinus infection. Both of my boys had goopy eyes this week, and Tyler = sinus inf and Justin = ear infection. Neither one had a fever (Justin was 99-ish the day we went to the pedi).
I agree-- see if it goopy because he's stuffed up. But if it's glued shut with goopy stuff in the morning, it could be pink eye instead. When Leah's eyes get watery from a cold, I give her children's anti-allergy medicine, which our pedi okayed (just a 1/2 tsp.). It dries it up and that allows me to tell if it's pink eye. Pink eye is the devil...
