Dean Slayton Basham was born on Feb. 15th, 7 lbs/7 oz via scheduled C-section. I am a first time mama and was pretty nervous about the C/S but I am happy to report everything went incredibly smooth. For those of you who are scared of the spinal block, I am here to tell you it is less painful than getting the flu vaccine.Seriously. By the time I laid back down after the spinal my entire body from chest to toes was completely numb and Dean was born within 5 minutes. My husband took a video of the entire thing and we watched it later. DS was breech and watching the docs pull him out was incredible.
I am SO in love with my baby boy. He is a spitting image of BOTH me and DH. Nursing has gone very well so far (whoo hoo) and my recovery is going extremely fast. I was up and walking the same day and I have no problem running around the house taking care of DS. I was in the hospital for 4 days and took only Motrin for the most part with a few Lortab (sp?) on the second and third days. Now, on my 5th day, I'm just taking ibuprofin.
Anyway, that's my story! So grateful we didn't have any unforseen complications and that DS is healthy and happy! GL to you, mamas!
