I'm trying to get into wrapping (I normally use a BH Mei Tai, but it's not comfortable for long periods of time now that DS is bigger), but I'm confused as to which size wrap to use with which carry. I saw ncbelle's information below, but which carries can I do with each size? Also, what are a couple of somewhat easy carries for beginners to start with? TIA!
Re: Wrappers, please help!
The size you can use for different carries really depends on how big you (and your baby) are.
I need a 7 to do a double hammock carry comfortably, can just barely squeeze one out in a six. My next wrap is going to be a 5, and I plan to do a ruck tied in back with that wrap.
I'm not expeirenced but these helped me choose. https://www.thebabywearer.com/forum/showthread.php?254832-The-length-of-wrap-for-different-carries-*revised-wording

Tough question. The answer is: it depends. Spend some time on thebabywearer.com. You will see all different women do all different carries with various sizes. A pp mentioned she can't double hammock easily in a 6 (4.6m), I can double hammock in a 5 (4.2m), but I prefer a 6. It can even vary from wrap to wrap because of wrapping qualities (stretchiness, tails, etc).
As long as you are under a size 14, I would start with a 4.6 (or 4.7) and try a FWCC (front wrap cross carry) and once you get the hang of wrapping I would go for a double hammock next. You can also practice other carries that use less wrap (like a ruck or kangaroo carry) and if you like them but have too much tail you could buy a shorter wrap.
Good luck! Enjoy learning with LO.
