Anyone been to San Francisco?

Dh is meeting a client there the first week of April. It's on a Monday and Tuesday, so he wants to fly us out early together to enjoy the weekend. no kids!

I have never been before, but was excited when he mentioned it.

However, it looks like it will be a little more expensive than I anticipated.

So, if you've been, is it worth it? Should we go for it? how is the weather this time of year?

Thanks!

  • Go!!! It's an amazing city. So much to do and see, great food, I am envious. I haven't been since I was a kid but I'm dying to go back.

  • I would go.  DH had a training out there six years ago for a week and I joined him for the weekend.  I wish we could have stayed longer!  It was such a beautiful city to visit.

  • When we lived in the Bay Area DH and I used to spend our weekends in San Francisco. It is the most wonderful city in the world. Go, go, go!

The weather always sucks so don't let that deter you. :) LOL Seriously though, it's always a little chilly and a little breezy in most neighborhoods. Just dress in layers.

  • I've only been for business but was able to arrange my flights so I could spend some extra time there. I really liked it. Go!!
  • We went for a few days on our honeymoon before we headed up to wine country.  Its a great city.  I wish I could have stayed longer.

  • We got engaged in San Fran! My sister lived out there briefly so we stayed with her. She lived walking distance from Fisherman's wharf. If you get a chance, go to Napa Valley and check out some vineyards. San Fran has so many places to see and great places to eat. You will love it. And Moesten is right...it does get chilly by the bay so bring a jacket. And it is ALWAYS foggy and gloomy in the morning but it clears up. Have fun!!

  • GO!

I went on Spring Break in college.  One of my favorite trips.  There is TONS to do- you can go hiking, visit some of the tourist attractions, eat lots of good food (dim sum in China Town is the only place I specifically remember), plus lots more.  The week we went was the 2nd week of March, and the weather was better there than it is here today.  It wasn't cold, but it wasn't warm either.  Dress in layers and you'll be good.

  • I went there once to visit a friend.  Riding the bus through the city was an adventure in itself!  There were all kinds on the bus...someone with bongos, valley girls, and a man with a huge iguana wearing a spiked collar and a leash (the iguana, not the man - only in San Fran would one feel the need to clarify!).  I was only there for a long weekend but it was really neat to see so many things that you recognize in movies (the wharf, that curvy street, golden gate, haight-ashbury, etc.).
  • GO!  San Francisco is my favorite city!  We went on our honeymoon and on our 1 year anniversary.  If at all possible try to get to wine country.  We have only done Sonoma but it is an easy drive from the city and totally worth it.

  • If you have the chance to go, go.  San Francisco is in my top 3 cities and I have been traveling for work for the past 13 years so I have seen my fair share of crappy and cool cities.  SF is most definitely cool.
