we went today and really liked the peg perego pliko switch stroller. it felt alot lighter and easier to handle then the graco one. im wondering if it really will be better than the graco travel system.

what are you getting? i am nervous about some of these strollers that seem huge and heavy!

Re: what stroller/travel system are you getting?

  • We're getting the UPPAbaby Vista - It's a snap and go frame that comes with a bassinet as well as a regular seat.  You can also get an adaptor for our carseat (Chicco KeyFit 30).  It's pretty awesome

  • We got this one

It wasnt as expensive as some of the ones I liked, and it is stylish & appears sturdy.

  • We're going with the Baby Trend Snap N Go + 2 Flex Loc Car Seats that easily lock into the frame. We figure one car seat will always be locked into the car and the other can be portable with the stroller.

  • We're registered for the Graco SnugRIde and the Snap 'n Go and we registered for the Graco Metrolite stroller for when he's a little older. We opted against the travel system because it really was quite difficult for me to close and lift the stroller on my own but the Metrolite wasn't too bad.

It was a good mix of the quality we wanted, but still in our price range.

we're leaning towards this, but would need a Graco adapter.

I also really like the Mutsy 4 rider which is very similar, but haven't been able to find a store that sells then near us to test drive it. However, we've read from the reviews that the cargo basket isn't that large...so we think the UPPAbaby may be the ticket for us.

DH thinks The Orbit is the coolest thing he's ever seen...I just like watching Dwight Schrute test it Stick out tongue

  • We just bought our stroller yesterday at BRU before the great trade-in sale ended.  We got the Chicco Cortina (green and gray) travel system.  We also registered for the Baby Trend snap and go which my mother is planning to get for us for my shower gift.

We got this one b/c we love going for walks and jogging.

We did consider this one b/c not only is it called "Aerolite", but in personal I couldn't believe how light it was....maybe you should check it out:

  • I have the UppaBaby Vista.  Like a PP said, it has a snap and go frame with a bassinet and seat.  It has a huge basket, foam wheels, and a lot of other fabulous features.  I love it!  I actually got mine off of craigslist for $300 and it didn't even look used.  I seriously think we put more wear and tear on it while we were practicing walking the dog with the stroller.

We are doing this travel system also.  DH found it and I love it!

  • I have not completely decided yet, but I think we're going to get a Baby Jogger City Mini.  It is very light, and I was super impressed with the one-handed folding mechanism.  You literally just pull a handle from around where your baby's butt sits, and *poof* you're carrying the folded stroller!  We live in the city - walk-up apartment, limited storage space, up and down the stairs to the subway, drive a small car - so lightness and compactness are key for us.

I get tempted by some of the fancier strollers out there, but I keep coming back to the City Mini because of it's lightness and easy fold and carry.  Seems like the right "amount" of stroller for our lifestyle.

I'm on the fence between getting the car seat adapter for the City Mini or getting a Snap and Go for when she's a newborn.

We will most likely be doing this one too, except in the Miro print.

  • We got the BOB revolution with infant car seat adapter to go with our Chicco Key Fit seat (apparently, you can remove a bar on the adapter and it will work with the KeyFit even though this isn't advertised).  This is the plan for now- we might eventually get a Snap n'Go if we end up needing something to go in and out of the car a lot (right now we mostly walk everywhere so I don't think this will be an issue).

This exactly!  It has a great safety rating for the carseat and I just don't see paying above $400 dollars for a stroller.  I guess where I live, it would be a waste.  No one really looks to see if you have a cadillac of strollers and really don't they all accomplish the same thing?

I guess it's just preference.  However, for me safety was the number one factor!

  • We have the Chicco Cortina in the green and gray as well. It's bulky but we had it for DS #1 and don't need to get something new. It turns well and isn't hard to fold up.

  • We registered for this one:

I wasn't really sure which one to get but I know Graco is a good brand and I like this pattern because it's semi-neutral so we can reuse it, and the seat reverses.

  • Chicco Cortina travel system w/the Chicco Keyfit 30.  I found the Adventure pattern on Amazon for $277 and ordered it.  The Miro print was even cheaper (like $247).  For comparison, the equivalent at BRU is like $329.  Adventure wasn't my first color choice, but the savings was well worth it to us.

  • We got the baby jogger city select

  • We got the First Years Wave stroller. It comes with the infant car seat adaptor so it works perfect with our Graco Edgemont Snugride 35.  It is a bit heavy but not nearly as much as some stuff we were looking at. It is a high class stroller without the high class price.

  • I purchased my City Mini 2011 and received it last month. It's been sitting in what would become LO's room for sometime now. I still am not sure which carseat to use. Maybe the Maxi Cosi. Have to get an adapter for it. boo.

  • We started out with a Graco Quattra Tour system and hated it. It was heavy, bulky and awkward to steer. My mom gave us an Eddie Bauer travel system stroller, which was slightly better but still bad. We finally picked up a couple of Graco snap'n'go frames to use with the infant seat (loved them because they were so easy to tote around!) and later on a Maclaren umbrella stroller after we switched to the convertible car seat.

For us the important things turned out to be maneuverability and portability.

PS to all the Chicco Cortino stroller ladies -- I have a friend with a son a few months older than mine who absolutely raves about her Cortino set. She gets heavy use out of it, too, so she'd know if it were crap!

  • We got the Baby Jogger City Select. I really like it because the second seat gets added to the single frame stroller, so I won't feel like I'm pushing a stretch limo down the street. We got the car seat adaptors as well for the early months. The stroller folds down really easily so it can fit in any sized trunk. It's also quite light for a double stroller.

This, but they only had the Luna (beige with a bit of red) in stock, even though I liked the Discovery more.

ETA - After reading more posts above and the great Amazon deals, I have to complain that ours was $439 Cdn...but car seats are one of the items that you can't bring back to Canada (vs. PNP, swings, etc. that we could buy over the border).

  • well i think i did alot of research in the search for our perfect stroller. this is our first baby and we do hope to be blessed with more.  the stroller is the Chicco S3 All-Terrain Stroller, https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4319486, and the carseat is the Chicco KeyFit 30 in fuego, https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3604029&prodFindSrc=prodCrossSell.

i know its a bit pricey overall and especially at babiesrus but i found the stroller for $60 cheaper at strollerdepot.com and the carseat for 152 at babyviva.com

I have heard that chicco will last you through a couple of kids while gracco would not hold up for two or more children.  So i hope i will get my moneys worth. good luck on your search.

We are getting this as well with the Peg Perego Viaggo Sip 30/30 infant car seat

  • We got the graco metrolite stroller, it was just so much lighter than the travel system ones. We are getting Snugride 35 as our carseat, it's a little heavier but hopefully will last us the first year.

  • City Mini. I'm thinking I'll skip the car seat adaptor at first and just recline the seat with a snuzzler at first, and if it seems like we'll need it, get the car seat adaptor a little later.
  • We found a great sale on the baby trend expedition sport stroller and flex loc car seat. We couldn't pass up the sale ($150 taxes in) and the test drive was great. If it doesn't last, we weren't out that much money.

I have this travel system for my youngest and I love it.... the only bad thing is that it can be heavy and bulky so if you have a small car it will take up a lot of room...
