Baby Showers

Registry

Listing registries on invites. So I've read many articles about it an I find they are all contradicting. Some say, it's tacky to list the registry on the invite, some say maybe rules are evolving and now it's OK (just like having a blood relative throw you the shower things like that). Checking websites where to order the invites we saw that all of the samples have the last be "Jane Doe is registered at BRU" so what is it? I offered to make the invites for my shower since I'm very crafty and love making my own stationary but I'm at a loss on the subject. Thanks for the input!

Re: Registry

  • It's probably varies by region but where I come from it's perfectly acceptable as is a blood relative throwing a shower. I've been given smaller invites that didn't have it listed but instead included a small card with where the registry was. That may be a compromise if you're unsure?

  • When I receive an invitation I expect to see where the guest of honor is registered.  Also, it's totally acceptable for a blood relative to throw the shower.  My mom and MIL are throwing my shower.

  • if it were a wedding invitaiton you dont put where the registry is at but since it is a baby shower i am going to say yes. and yes you can have a family throw you the shower. my sister and sister-in-laws are doing mine (:

  • It's printed on the back of my invite.  I like it better than all those little inserts the store gives you.
