Not in the good way.

At the party today while we were getting ready to sing Happy Birthday, she LOUDLY and forcefully announced that HER son will NOT be getting that much sugar on his birthday. Ohhhh that's waaaaay too much sweets for a little boy. She doesn't want her son to get diabetes before he is 12, and have childhood obesity.

I shot her the most evil look I could muster, because it's one thing to feel that way and quite another to announce it while we give my kid his birthday cake.

It pissed me off beyond belief and I can't believe she would say that. Honestly, I have always been kind to her and I don't have any idea where this came from. It really seemed spiteful.

I tried to brush it off, but I'm still so annoyed that she tainted my moment. I know this is such a cliche, but I have been wondering if she was jealous? I don't know. But I was secretly really gleeful when her nipples leaked through her shirt and she had to leave.

Like you said if she feels that way fine, she doesn't have to feed her kid cake, but that doesn't mean she has any right to be judgey/make loud pronouncements during YOUR KID'S bday party. What a whench. IMO if she hyper deprives her kid of any sweets ever he is probably more likely to end up with diabetes or obese b/c he's gonna binge when he's set free (not that I think all Moms need to give their kids real cake or anything). My LO has only had organic home made food and bm so far. But for his birthday he'll be getting really bona fide, covered in frosting CAKE!!!!

Her LO is only 7m, so she has a long time to change her mind. I thought I would do an egg/dairy free cake, but things changed and here we are now!

she's lame. i bet she's one of those people that will dish out sugar all of the time while you only did it on your ds's b-day. also, there's no need for her to announce that at your party; no one cares what she thinks she will or won't do for her own kid.
