  Ok cause I feel like soft cheese is always being talked about but almost all cheeses in the US are pasturized so I am wondering what is the big deal.

  I was so nervous about  this because I love cheese but I have noticed that most cheeses in the US are pasteurized anyways so it does not matter. Just to be safe, I always ask at restaurants. I think the only time I see unpasteurized is if I am at the store and see some specialty cheeses.

  This is what I have found too. You really have to look for unpasteurized cheese. That being said, I usually check anyway, but if it is is pasteurized, it is fine.
