Recommend your stroller for travel

I have a City Select, but I'm looking for a more travel friendly stroller for gate checking, etc.  The CS is way too heavy and bulky to deal with gate checking, and I don't really feel like having my $700 stroller beat up by a baggage handler.

I'm not looking to get a $15 umbrella stroller though - DS is a big kid, and I want something that has a little bit of back supportr.

Thanks mamas!

Re: Recommend your stroller for travel

  • I just gate checked my City Classic stroller when we went to Mexico last week, and I was SO glad we did. Having the bigger/nicer wheels on cobblestones was priceless. We had absolutely no damage to our stroller. I know it is possible, but again I was so so so glad we had brought ours when I saw everyone with their dinky umbrella strollers. Even nicer maclaren's still seemed annoying on cobblestones.

You could try to find another jogging type stroller used that you're willing to risk getting damaged.

  • chicco liteway is awesome!! full recline, cup holder, pretty decent basket, and the best is its easy to fold and light. i can hold DS while i fold it and put it in the truck!

  • I have the Kooper Joovy, and it's very compact and would be good for travel.

  • From experience, I can say that the City Mini is amazing for airport travel. It takes one movement, one hand, and one second to fold up. It doesn't get any easier than that.
  • we have a bumble ride indie and just purchased a maclaren triumph.  we are going on a beach trip then to disney.  we tried the maclaren around for a walk and it's really nice.
