LOL you can't sneak a thing like that by me! *crossing fingers for a good strong HB next week*
I never threw up, but I had nausea 24/7 for months and the only thing that worked was sour candy. And I mean SOUR - the kind that worked the best for me was so incredibly strong that it actually left sore spots in my mouth after a few pieces. Ginger, etc. didn't work for me (ginger in particular actually made me feel sicker!) but the candy did the trick.

Sneaky!! How exciting for you! I hope your appointment next week goes well and that baby's heartbeat is loud and strong!
For MS, hard candies helped me a little. I kept Jolly Ranchers stashed everywhere. Are you taking prenatals? I noticed that I always felt yucky after taking those so I switched brands and that helped tremendously.

Congratulations! Sending good vibes your way. I listened to redshoegirl when she told me sour and boy did it work. I bought every kind of sour candy I could find from sour patch kids to sour peach rings. It was the only thing that helped me get through the day! Thanks Lisa!
Hooray! Big congrats and I hope all goes well at your appt...I am sure it will! I agree with everyone regarding sour items like lemonade, sour patch kids, jolly ranchers, lemonheads or lemon drop candies. I never threw up but was constantly nauseaus until about 14 weeks. Keeping saltines in your purse and next to the bed help too...just eat one or two every hour or so to keep something in your tummy helps the nausea as well.
So excited for all of you! This pregnancy has been WAY more difficult for me. I think part of it was the complete exhaustion and morning sickness (until 16 weeks!) then the raging nightmares (until 22 weeks) and now just being giant and exhausted oh and chasing a busy toddler!
For me, I switched from taking prenatals to taking 2 flinestones vitamins a day and that REALLY helped! Also sugary drinks like juice helped. (I rarely drink juice when I'm not pg). Sour candies also helped. I NEEDED to eat every 2 hours or I'd get raging nausea, if I ate every 2 hours it was only mild nausea.
Congratulations!! I remember 100 years ago talking about when we would all consider the next baby & you said well Alexa was 9/9/09 so maybe you should shoot for 10/10/10 and 11/11/11. Obvioulsy you took a year off, but pretty close on 11/11/11!
As for MS, sour stuff really didn't work for me. I kept Kashi chocolate chip cookies by the bed and would have one with a vitamin water 1st thing when I woke up & that seemed to help. but if I did get nauseous or pukey, coke icees were my savior. I think it was the super cold/frozen liquid that made me feel better.
holy cow!!!! i hadn't seen your post below yet but congrats!!!!!!! so exciting I know you said you weren't actively TTC but you also weren't preventing.... so I guess your "let's just see what happens" attitude worked must less stressful than actively TTC huh?
GL with your appt, i hope all goes well and you have a nice strong HB!
WOW! Thanks everyone for such great tips on how to avoid MS!! I am going to try hard candies pronto!! That icee sounds good too. If I could just eat croussaunts and fro-yo, I'd be good I think. Hahaha!
Will let you know how next week's appt goes... Please keep your fingers crossed for us!!

Yeah.... Well we were just "practicing." I figured I'd start temping in Feb so that we could try for 11-11-11. Guess we sort of jumped the gun on that one! Funny how this time I didn't temp or count days or anything. And we only really have time to BD during weekend naps... So we got lucky!

Oh, also, I have decided that you need to go like 5 weeks overdue so you can have an 11/11/11 baby to match your 9/9/09 one.
Either that or just a week overdue to Oct 9, because then if you write your dates the European way it will be 9/10/11.
