I lost all my MP last night at about 9:30. Had some timable cramps in my lower abdomen but they went away at 12:30am and I went to sleep. I woke at 5 with more pain but this was in my back. I have had back pain in waves for the last 2 hours. The pattern is approx 3-15 minutes lasting anywhere from 30-50seconds. It's just back pain though, not much pain in front. The back pain stops me in my tracks. I have tried warm tub and it slowed them but didn't stop them.
I am waiting on a phone call back from the doctor but I was wondering if anyone knew if timable back pain = labor and if so since it doesn't follow the 5-1-1 rule should I even worry about it right now?
Re: timable back pain = labor? longish...
I had back labor with my first.. It started around midnight on saturdaynight. Same as you went away and came back. I walked around and it was gone. until later that day at 5pm... It started back up and was more consistent. Went to the hospital at 8pm. was already 6cm... even though they did not see the contractions on the machine .. Was put on pitocin, had epi and had water broken and baby was born at 4:16 am early morning monday.. so it was about 28 hrs after the back labor started.
I did not all my dr until I could not take the pain and the contractions were more consistent.
Good luck
Thanks for the replies. My doctor still hasn't called back - maybe I got lost in the shuffle. :-/
I have a get together with some girlfriends today in about 30 minutes. I guess I will go to that and then see what happens afterwords. I don't want to go to L&D and sit for hours. I am GBS+ though so I don't want to wait too long...
Gah! It would be easier if you knew you were looking out for XYZ instead of every pregnancy being different.
I don't think the contractions are long enough, if they even are contractions. I've been having early labor for 2 weeks now, and my doctor said contractions that dilate your cervix will last at least a minute.
