Re: Feb Mamas Check-in
Great idea!
1. Pregnant..and past due date.
2a. Have 41week appointment on Weds and likely induction on Thurs/Friday of next week, unless he arrives before then (fingers crossed)! I was "almost" 2 cm and 70% effaced on Weds of this week (my due date) and had 8 hours of false labor last night (hopefully it at least dilated/softened me a bit more).
Can't wait to read other ladies' updates!
1. Still pregnant
2a. I'm planning on a natural birth and want as little intervention as possible, so although my Dr. usually induces around 41 week he offered to allow me to go to 42 weeks since baby and I are still both very healthy and he knows I want a natural, med free birth. Hopefully, she'll come out sooner than later though!
I still feel great - I've been having contractions for the past 2 days and started losing my MP this morning, but it hasn't gone anywhere yet. I'm counting on this full moon tonight!! Oh, and I'm 2 cm dilated, 70% effaced.

Outside baby
2.b. If outside baby, how old? How are things going? Any baby blues or other issues? If trying to breastfeed, how is that going?
2 weeks tomorrow! Little man has had a rough past two days but we have a check up today so hopefully I can talk to the pedi about his spitting up and gas issues.
Maybe baby blues a bit, not sure if it is just stress and lack of sleep or hormones though. I am watching myself a little more carefully.
BFing isn't going that well for me. LO doesn't have a great latch and destroys my nipples(scabs and all). I am going to buy a nipple shield today to see if that helps. I have been pumping though (which I hate). I never knew BFing was going to be this difficult!
2.b. 2 weeks and 1 day old. Going very well. Breastfeeding like a champ. Has way surpassed her birth weight. Going to start pumping and giving 1 bottle a night possibly tonight and I'm nervous about it. No baby blues... I just need to get enough sleep and that seems to cure my mood.
2.b. 4 weeks today! Things are going pretty good, I just love spending time with him and starring at him all day. I also love seeing what a sweet and amazing father my H is. It melts my heart every day.
Our main issue is lack of sleep (his and ours) since he's only sleeping for an hour or so at a time and sometimes goes for hours without sleeping at all.
I've had a tiny bit of baby blues but thankfully so far nothing major. I wasn't able to breastfeed from the beginning which was pretty disappointing but I've been looking on the bright side and appreciating my healthy boy.
1. Pregnant or outside baby? Still pregnant
2.a. If pregnant, any induction or c-section plans? How are you feeling? My due date isn't until Tuesday, which is also my next appointment. At my last visit I was 1cm dialated and my OB stretched my cervix (ouch!). We haven't talked about induction yet. We'll see what this next appointment brings unless he decides to come sooner.
I caught a nasty cold on Monday so I've been feeling pretty crappy. My throat is still a little sore when I wake up from sleeping and I'm congested. I'm trying my hardest to convince LO to stay put just a little longer so that I can feel better before he arrives. I just can't imagine being sick for it
1. Pregnant or outside baby? *Pregnant
2.a. If pregnant, any induction or c-section plans? How are you feeling? *Due in 8 days and still showing no progress. They will not talk induction until I am a week overdue. I am feeling pretty good. Just some swollen feet, trouble sleeping, and the usual aches and pains that come along with pregnancy.
1. Outside baby! Will add her pic to signature as soon as I can get the Bump to cooperate.
2b. Dani is 9 days old. Things are going well, though I feel sooo lucky my mom is here to take care of all of the cooking, laundry, etc.
My baby blues were REALLY bad a few days ago, but I feel like I'm coming out of the funk. I've gotten a bit more sleep, which helps, but I think my hormones must also be leveling out a bit. It was getting a bit scary-- so much crying, and then the crying would make me unable to fall asleep. Not being pregnant felt really lonely, especially when I had someone watch Dani so I could try to sleep.
Breastfeeding is going really well. I had a free consult with my hospital's LC yesterday to have her look at my latch and answer some questions. When we left the hospital, we weren't reliably getting a good latch, but we appear to have figured it out. The LC says she has a good, deep latch now. She's gaining weight, though I'm not sure she'll be quite back to her birth weight by her 2 week appt. It'll be close. And I'm not really having pain or anything. The only thing is that I do have some lumps that I need to massage to try to prevent them turning into mastitis.
Hope you feel better soon!

2.b. If outside baby, how old?
16 days
How are things going?
great!
Any baby blues or other issues?
no, just exhausted by 8
If trying to breastfeed, how is that going?
wonderfully, except she spits up a lot
1. Pregnant or outside baby? outside baby. K was born on Jan 28th at 10am
2.a. If pregnant, any induction or c-section plans? How are you feeling? No longer pregnant...but Im exhausted. Being a single mother is hard but so worth it.
2.b. If outside baby, how old? How are things going? Any baby blues or other issues? If trying to breastfeed, how is that going? He is 3 weeks today!! So far everything is going great. Im EP bc of latching issues and i found it to be the best for the both of us. Now if I could just get him to sleep at night time. He is loving to be wide awake around 2 am-6am at night.
1. Still pregnant, due today.
2. I have my 40w appointment scheduled for Monday, hoping I don't make it through the weekend being pregnant, but if I do, I'm sure we'll talk about an induction then. I've started having what feel like real contractions today, finally.. I'm heading out the door in a minute to waddle up and down the road some more. *crosses fingers*
Outside baby as of January 12. 5 1/2 weeks old, but was 3 1/2 weeks early. He's doing fairly well now- jaundice is gone and breastfeeding is going well but I'm still needing to use the nipple shield to get him to latch. Nights are getting better- between 3-4 hrs between feedings now, so at least I'm getting ~2 hrs of sleep 3x a night. I've been Having the baby blues for awhile now, but it's getting a bit better.
1. Still an inside baby. These contractions are driving me insane. I cannot wait to meet this LO. At least I'm not terribly uncomfortable.
2a. EDD is still 3 days away, so no plans. Besides, we're planning a homebirth so no induction plans anyway. Unless I go past 42 weeks (knock on wood), though my MW went 16 days past due with her LO so I know she's not too induction-happy.
Good idea, I love reading posts like this.
1. Still pregnant, due in 3 days.
2. I think I might be in labor right now...for the past 2 days I've had contractions that are stronger than BH, and getting more painful and closer together. I had my weekly appointment this morning and I'm 3 cm dialated and 60% effaced. I was only 1+ cm last week, so I know something's been going on lately. No plans for induction or c-section yet, but I have my first NST and bio-profile scheduled for Tuesday if I don't have her prior to that.
1. Pregnant or outside baby? outside, Feb. 1
2.b. If outside baby, how old? 2 weeks 3 days
How are things going? Just mainly tired...he is #3, so you'd think I'd be used to little sleep. He is doing well, eating every three hours, 1 1/2 hour naps in between, sleeping well at night. He is definitely my easiest baby of the 3...probably because he IS the 3rd!
Any baby blues or other issues? Not really, I have some hormonal crying moments, but nothing I would call baby blues...
If trying to breastfeed, how is that going? Again, with #3, BF is the best its ever been. Yes, the nipple pain is still there, but decreasing. I am doing a better job of pumping and staying on top of the engorgement. He has a killer latch that about sucks the life out of me, but he is really efficient and finishes eating in about 20-25 minutes. My girls were LAZY eaters and were always falling asleep before getting the job done!
1. Pregnant
2. No plans yet, and still not dilated as of today... I'm getting depressed. I know I have about a week until my due date, but I have a feeling there will be no change. I don't want to be induced!!!
1. Pregnant or outside baby? Outside Baby!
2.b. If outside baby, how old? How are things going? Any baby blues or other issues? If trying to breastfeed, how is that going? Madeline is 3 weeks old today! After finally gaining enough to get back to birth weight this week, we are both over our upper resp infections and doing well. We had a rough start with a day in the NICU over some temperature regulation issues and some fluid issues. Breastfeeding has been much more difficult than I anticipated. We are still working on it with the help of a nipple shield. In the mean time, I'm pumping every 3 hours.
Congrats to all our new mommies and good luck to those of you who haven't met your babies yet. It is the MOST amazing feeling ever to hear that first cry.
Hi everyone!
1. Outside baby, born on her due date : )
2. She's 10 days old & things are going well. We're doing great with BFing. We introduced a pacifier last night & I was worried that would cause problems, but she still latches & eats like a champ. No baby blues, though I imagine it'll be hard next week when DH goes back to work. One of the best parts of the first week is that I'm now 10 lbs. below my pre-baby weight ::happy dance::.

Sophia Leigh has arrived! 02.09.11
I hope you get your natural birth! I had my last u/s for LO last Tuesday & they estimated 8 lbs/ 14 oz. She was super-high and I was scheduled for induction the next morning but went into labor on the way home from my appointment (I was 2cm dilated). She was born later that night at 7 lbs/ 7 oz less than 6 hours before I was supposed to be induced, and I got the med-free birth I wanted. My doula said sometimes babies (even first ones) don't drop until you're far along- I was probably 4-6cm dilated before I noticed her moving down. Sorry for the long response but I hope you have a healthy baby with a great birth experience!

Great post!

2.b. If outside baby, how old? 1 week & 6 days old
How are things going? Any baby blues or other issues?
I'm irritable often due to lack of sleep. I feel so much better when I get long naps in but they are hard to get when there's so much to be done in between breastfeeding and pumping sessions.
If trying to breastfeed, how is that going? Breastfeeding is going well. I'm using nipple shields and a latch assist which are a great help with my flat nipples. Babe has a strong latch and occasionally it hurts but I'm getting used to it. I put some breast milk on the nips and air them out and that really helps when they are sore. Lately she has been sleeping during the day and then nursing at night almost every hour and that has been exhausting. I hope we can switch that schedule around.
1. Outside baby!
2. He's a month old now. I can't believe it! Things are going well. He's a good eater and sleeper, and really doesn't cry much except when something is wrong (hungry, poopy diaper, etc). We BF'd the first 2 weeks, but LO had a hard time latching, and we were both getting stressed. So, I started pumping, and now he gets expressed BM in bottles, with the occasional formula bottle to supplement b/c my supply isn't great. Also, my recovery has been pretty easy, considering I had a 21 hr labor and a c-section. There are still a few things I can't do (clip my own toenails for example, ha), but for the most part I'm feeling almost back to 100%.
1. Pregnant
2. No plans yet. 40 week appointment on Monday - supposed to talk induction then.
Inside Baby still.
Feeling ok. No mention of induction because my dr. lets her patients go 42 weeks. I am walking a lot and feeling LOTS of pelvic pressure!! Other than that, just normal sleep issues and typical pregnancy symptoms.
Last Monday I was not dialated and was 75% effaced. Since that appointment I have had bloody show and loss of plug and so hopefully at my appt Monday some progress will be apparant.
1, Outside baby
2b. Gus is 2+ weeks old, hard to believe! Things are going fine with the baby, having some struggles with my toddler, though. It's just an adjustment, it will get better soon (I keep telling myself!). Breastfeeding is going well, I'll try to pump and give Gus a bottle next week to get him used to it before I go back to work in April.

2.b. If outside baby, how old? How are things going? Any baby blues or other issues? If trying to breastfeed, how is that going?
10 weeks today!
Things are going well. The boys are a little over 8lbs and on a 3.5 to 4 hour schedule. They eat about 4 ounces each feeding. At times, like right now, the boys having some crankiness issues (I think they are gassy). Since we have 2, one decides to cry really loud and wake their brother. My DH and I take turns during the night so we can each get some sleep.
No baby blues here!
I do not breastfeed, but am a pumping machine!!! I pump between 8 and 9 times, but suffer from a low supply. The boys get 60% formula and 40% breastmilk. I've tried fenugreek, mother's milk tea, oatmal, almonds, & cashews but nothing has helped. I might try some power pumping this weekend to see if that makes a difference.

Connor is 23 days old. I am on and off with my emotions; I was with DD too. Also, Connor's first middle name, Michael, is after my father who was killed in a tragic accident last July. Well, he has so many features that remind me of my Dad that I frequently get really sad that he will never know his Grandpa. I also find myself getting really frustrated with DD, I feel so bad, but I am really lacking patience these days. DH is a great help with both DC and he gives me alone time when he can too. We FF, and its going great.
1. Still pregnant, but I've still got 8 days until my due date.
2. No plans for induction or c- section. My midwives wait up until 42 weeks though so I could be ( but hopefully not!) pregnant until March 13.
I feel really great though. Lots of Braxton Hicks contractions mostly at night, but still sleeping lots and feeling pretty relaxed about just waiting until he's ready to meet us.

Not really a feb mom (MJ was born 1/29) but still sticking around..
1- definately an outside baby
2- MJ is 3wks old today. So far things are ok, a little out of it from lack of sleep but we are getting things together. Tried to breastfeed but we had some latching issues. i pump which makes life a little easier.

1. Pregnant or outside baby? Pregnant, past due.
2.a. If pregnant, any induction or c-section plans? How are you feeling? Induction is scheduled for Monday at 9am. It cannot come soon enough. I feel great, no complaints about still being pregnant. I just feel like I've been waiting f.o.r.e.v.e.r for an outside baby. It's been almost 15 months since my first +HPT.
