How did things go yesterday with the acu?

Re: mary beth

  • Hi! It went well...I really enjoyed it. It really relaxed me :) From her assessment of my tongue and pulse (weird, I know), she was able to tell I was tired and had a sweet tooth. Both are true! She advised staying away from refined/processed sugar food such as candy, cookies, etc. That's actually good advice since I have PCOS. She also recommended yoga to promote relaxation. The goal of acupuncture for me is to help balance out my hormones, especially since I have luteal phase spotting. I go back on Wednesday.

  • That's why I think you are a good candidate for acu!  I was always talking to David about my pulse, although I could never tell the difference myself.

The advice on the processed sugar is good too, I think.  Not only does TCM say to do this, but there seem to be a lot of medical studies that say this as well.  When I had my surprise BFP, I had just spent the previous 6 weeks with a reduced sugar (and really, more balanced carbs/protein) diet.  I was just trying to lose weight, which I did.  Sigh, it is hard for me to give up sugar though.  After TTC for so long and giving up alcohol, caffeine, running...it's hard to know if anything makes a difference.

I'm really glad you liked it, I am so hopeful for you that it will work!

  • The sugar thing has been hard, especially since it's Girl Scout cookie season!
