Baby K'Tan questions

This was suggested as an alternative to a Moby. I have been reluctant to biuy a moby because I dont like the idea of a long piece of cloth (I prefer more structure), it seems to have a comparatively steep learning curve, and it seems very hot. Does the K'tan have good reviews? Any drawbacks? I'm thinking about using this for a newborn. I already have  an Ergo andd a Babyhawk.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Baby K'Tan questions

  • I've used the K'tan and I honestly didn't find it any cooler than the moby.  It was comfy though with a newborn.  I wouldn't pay the price of a new one but you should be able to find one used pretty easily.

I would recommend that you also consider a ring sling for a newborn carrier.  You can buy them from sleepingbaby.net for as little as $25

  • i love my Baby K'tan. It is so much easier than the Moby - figured it out right away, it is so simple. it can get warm in the summer, but so does any baby carrier because of the body heat. however, i don't think it gets quite as hot as a wrap because there is much less material, so fewer layers. I actually just got their new Baby K'tan Breeze carrier too and that one is much lighter and cooler. i love it. lo and i practically lived in the k'tan for the newborn stage (now he likes to run around more and babywearing has slowed down :(

we will definitely use the k'tan again with #2. i actually can't wait to babywear again!
