From my HR department (and yes, I'm dorky - this is great news!!)
The IRS reversed their position on breast pumps and other lactation supplies on Thursday, ruling that these items are now tax-deductible as medical expenses. This means that employees can now use pretax funds from their health flexible spending accounts and HSAs to pay for these items.
This new ruling takes effect for 2010 tax filings, including 2010 health FSA and HSA reimbursements.
