Babies: 9 - 12 Months

We made it 10 months, but it finally happened. :(

Dylan dove head first off of the couch this morning.  We were sharing a banana and he was sitting on my lap.  All of a sudden, with no warning what-so-ever, he dove off of my lap and before I could grab him (stupid banana in my hand) BAM!  Right on top of his noggin! :(

  • Oh man, poor Dylan. Is he ok?

Jules got her first bloody lip yesterday when she face planted while crawling and her little tooth cut it. Is this what we are in for now?

  • He's ok, but boy did he scream.  I think it scared him more than anything else.  I'm really happy that at least he hit the rug instead of the hardwood floor!  Of course when I told H, he flipped and said "That's why I always freak out when you have him on the couch!  Thank God he's not paralysed!"  Um..overreaction much?  H is going to probably stroke out when Dylan starts walking and gets hurt 8 times a day!

Poor Jules.  :(  I think this is what we'll be dealing with for several months now!

  • We havent even made it to 10 months yet and DD fell off the bed the other day..I saw it coming I went to grab her (So did DH) but it was too late she was a ninja and flipped right off the end of the bed. Somehow landed on her side.. She was NOT happy..but fine she just cried for a bit..No bruises or battle wounds this time..

She totally face planted yesterday too trying to move from something..Not sure why baby heads are so heavy!

  • Oh no!  Crazy daredevil baby.  lol.  I'm glad to hear he's okay.
  • What is it with husbands??  Mine never does much besides sit and hold her when he's home so he gets all judgy when Riley falls.  Which has happened a couple times now that she's cruising (once resulting in a goose egg).  Hope the little guy is feeling alright now :)

I went to grab him, too.  It was like I couldn't figure out what to do, the banana in my hand had me all confused. lol  It was so quick, too.

I'm sure this isn't the last we've seen of these nasty spills and falls!

I know!  H never wants Dylan to do anything because he's afraid he'll fall and get hurt.  I'm more of the camp that says (as long as it;s not dangerous) that they have to learn somehow, ya know?

  • Oh no!! Sydney just did this Tuesday night too. She got a big bruise/lump on her head. I have some pics on my blog. I hope your little guy feels better soon!
  • AW, so sorry!  Glad he is okay!!  DD got her first boo boo this week too!  She was standing up holding onto the cabinet door in our kitchen and slipped.  BAM, head hit the cabinet door.  She screamed so loud.  Got a little bump and small bruise but she was fine.  Sure scared Mommy though!

  • Glad he is ok! DD has fallen out of her swing and pulled herself up and over in her crib. DH overreaccted too but just wait till something happens (hopefully  not though) while they are watching LO, maybe they wont overreact.
  • ah, it's ok!  Mine did it for the first (and so far only) time earlier this week. :-(

I felt good because by this age, DS#1 had fallen off at least 4 times.   IndifferentEmbarrassed
