Clicky poll for those who were induced

Hi Ladies,

I'm trying to figure out the percentage of people who were induced that had little or no signs of labor before the induction that wound up with an emergency c-section.  The reason is b/c I can't decided to do an induction or planned c for my large baby.  I know my dr is going to offer me a planned c & I'm scared to take it & scared not to!  Thanks.

  • Hmm, well, none of the above.  I was induced.... made little to no progress with Cervadil and Pitocin.  Baby would not come down secondary me having a small pelvis.  So we opted for a c-section... it was not an emergency at that point (I was definitely trying to avoid it getting to the point of an emergency).  And yes, she was less than 8.5 lbs.

  • Thanks everyone.
  • I was induced yesterday morning.  I was 1cm dialated and about 80%.  The induction from the moment they started my IV to to the time Ellie arrive was 6 hours and 15 minutes.  Ellie was 8lbs 5 oz.  Everything went well though everyone (doctors and nurses included) were very surprised at her size.  They expected her to be around 7.5lbs since DH and I are not large people but she surprise us all.   I hope all goes well for you

  • I wouldn't place too much stock into the poll. There are so many underlying circumstances that can affect an induction or lead to an emergency c-section.
