I absolutely LOVE this name! I would never use it as a middle name because it's one of those filler mns that people use when they don't know what else to use! Rose as a fn takes on a new and beautiful life! It deserves the front stage! It deserves to not be pushed into the background with the rest of those filler middle names! Absolutely use it! Worry about nicknames later!
I absolutely love it as a first name. I like it as a mn, too, but think it is way underused as a first name. Rosie is very cute. So is Rosita, which is what it would become in my house!
Very nice. Much better as a fn than mn. Not that it's a terrible mn, just overused.
Agreed. I usually don't like super short first names for girls for some reason, but Rose is lovely. Classic, strong yet feminine, easy to spell and pronounce.
The Rosie O'Donnel reference wouldn't bother me personally, but I see why it would bother other people. Personally, I think of a character from "Boy Meets World" before I think of Rosie O'Donnell... but I realize that's not typical.
Unfortunately, DH has recently declared a distaste for flower names
Mine did too--yet now he insists our daughter's name is Iris, and nothing else suits as well(he said this one gets a "bye" because of having multiple meanings/associations).

I LOVE it. DH doesn't. He likes Rosemary, which I don't like.
