So it seems the respiratory crud has found its way into my house as DS took a turn for the worse at nap. Just took DD's temp and it's 99.6. Since things always get worse in the middle of the night I thought I'd ask now and be prepared. What temp with DD warrants a call to after hours at the pedi office? At 6 weeks is she still too young for tylenol? TIA!
Re: when to be concerned?
No Tylenol until she's 2 months old, or you're instructed to by the doctor.
Jen is right -- 100.4 is when you want to be calling the pedi. Is she showing any other symptoms?

The twins just had this at 5 weeks.
We just did lots of suction, steam showers, and I wore vapor rub on my chest when I held them. We also elevated their cribs and kept them upright as much as possible to help with drainage.
We did give Tylenol once and it was approved from our pedi. We were at the 100.4, but it quickly went away. It did stay elevated around 99.8 for about 2 days before it went back down to 98.6 degrees.

Lila has had head congestion and a cough all week, and just because of her age I called the nurse line at our pedi's office to see what they wanted me to do. They said to look for any of the following: a temp of 100.3, trouble feeding that might indicate trouble breathing and/or a constant wheezing/whistling sound. In her case, there was not a constant wheezing sound and it sounded more like head congestion, which would not warrant a trip to the office. However, if it does sound more like a wheezing, you definitely need to call (our pedi would have had us take her straight to Children's in that case - RSV is going around and can get bad very quickly). If it's just a head cold, it just needs to run its course and they recommended running a cool mist humidifier and keeping her propped up by either elevating her mattress or letting her sleep in the swing, carseat, etc.
