Background: I work in public accounting. I am gearing up to be working long weeks. I am able to work from home with our software if I need to get some things done on nights and weekends. An intern was working on something for me this weekend. I am not too busy yet, so I didn't want to come to the office if I didn't need to so I gave him my cell # and said to call or email with any questions.
well, today a department wide email went out saying how we should tale turns coming in on weekends in case someone has questions. The girl that helped the intern with a few questions was behind that I'm pretty sure. It pisses me off because I've helped her staff (and her!) and plenty of occassions without complaining. Until I need to take time away from my family I'm not doing it just IN CASE a question comes up. Ok, vent over.
Re: Passive aggressive people vent
DH is an accountant too and has this problem all the time. He's expected to be there over the weekend to answer questions even if he is caught up on his work. However if he's swamped, he should just suck it up. Accounting sucks (sorry bitter accounting widow here lol).
